I got a huge desire to watch '1776' today. Once I finish NIGHT OF THE HUNTER, I will.

That is, unless the GARBO and THE STING DVDs find their way to my house today (as they're supposed to). If they do, I'll put in THE STING.

The Sting DVD (along with that of To Kill A Mockingbird) has a very attractive case.  It resembles a hardcover book.

Iam sure that your magnifiecient performance will more than compensate for what the others are lacking....

(Are you going to add a weight belt to the wardrobe requirements for your less-than-muscular co-star?) ;D ;D

LOL....thanks.

It was said during notes last night (not by the director) - that some actors are jumping all over other actor's lines and not waiting for them say all of their lines and if they would just wait a minute they would be said.

Hey - if I look at someone and he doesn't look like he's gonna finish that sentence, I'm going to start talking.

And it would help if I start your line for you....after waiting A LONG TIME....if you don't repeat what I just said before you finish the line.  Ya know.

And of course I love it when we finally get through it, and the actor you have stressed about and bailed out and backed up and finally have gotten through the scene says: "That was pretty good, I remembered more than I thought I would!"

I have never done an Ibsen comedy before.

Does anyone have any light to shed on the alleged affair between Jacqueline Susann and Ethel Merman?  I just heard about this rumor for the first time this morning.

What DR JRand reported is what I heard, too. Pretty much a one sided infatuation on Susann's part.

I've only encountered a few "Randys" in my life (namewise, at least), one of whom was Randy Plemmons, who thought he was "all that" because he had the role of Peter in the senior play (High School) of "The Diary of Anne Frank" and because he wore his hair longer than any of the other boys (this was 1965).

Randy was "going places" to hear him tell it.  He was most unpleasant.

Well...I know where I am, but I don't have a clue where he is.  He's not "all that," so far as I know.

But...we were kids, so whatchagonnado, Ron?  Hold it against him the rest of his life???

Nah...just saying....

Didn't I read that CHRISTMAS IN CONNECTICUT is coming out in a box with a couple of other Christmas-themed films - the 1938 MGM A CHRISTMAS CAROL (with Reginald Owen) and something else?

Crap!  I just read that Barrymore's is closing.  Evidently, Disney wants to build a hotel on that block and everyone sold out for the big bucks.  *Sigh...*

Oh, drat! And the last time I ever ate there, our waiter excused himself in mid-meal saying he was in a show. A couple of hours later, I saw him in the cast of PARTY!

How's that for a coincidence since I was just talking about PARTY!

Re: A Christmas-themed boxed set that might include "Christmas in Connecticut."

I just visited Amazon.com....usually, Amazon lists boxed sets both as a set and as individual titles.

Nothing but this one title and the TV movie version popped up when I did a search.

And if Barrymore's is closing, does that mean that Sam's is closing, too? That has usually been our place to have our first NYC lunch after we get into the city, though for the last two summers, we arrived too late to go there and not spoil our dinner.

DR JRand, excuse my being dense, but is tonight your opening night for MY THREE ANGELS? Seems like you mentioned last night was your last night before playing for an audience.

I didn't have your opening night down in my day planner, so I wanted to check. If it IS your opening night, of course, I'm wishing you to break a leg or two. If not, please inform me. Thanks.
