Wet, cool and miserable here.  And the weather too.

Good morning, dear friend(s) (almost a She Loves Me reference)

I went to bed at 8pm last night. We had a quiet day at Chez McLaughlin/Morelli, Anthony working on a DVD transfer for a friend and I prepping some CDs to be mailed to various and sundry friends and family. We had a nice dinner of baked potatoes, sliced chicken and salad. I used one of my favorite condiments, mild salsa, on my baked potato.

I then rode the exercise bike for 45 minutes, cleaned up, laid down on the bed for a few minutes with the fan blowing gentle breezes and the next thing I know it's 5:45am.

I now must wash my oatmeal bowl (this morning I added a plum to the oatmeal and raisins) and then off to work again.

Monday greetings!  I'm here early this morning - just took back-to-school blueberry muffins out of the oven.

TOD:

I love bold, hearty mustards.

I like Hellmann's mayo, too.

Catsup only on burgers and fries.

Tabasco sauce is always welcome on a table.

A1 sauce used to come in extra-oniony or extra-garlicky, which was very tasty.  But I guess they've stopped making it.

I agree, if it's not Heinz57 it's not catsup ketchup.

I also enjoy HP sauce (Original) which I was introduced to by Vixdad

Hollaindaise sauce is a wonderful concoction which can be eaten on anything!! (Maybe even chocolate)

I like ketchup (or catsup...I can't tell the difference), Mayo (prefer Best Foods, but am not that particular), mustard.

Good morning, everyone. Very cool morning here, and I've been up since 7:30. Read the newspaper first this morning since I was up earlier than usual and then went on my walk which was very bracing. These cool mornings have lifted my spirits considerably.

Oh, mustard must be Guldens Brown or French's Honey Mustard

and Hellman's Mayo

I do prefer Heinz ketchup, but I am not a purist. I buy what's on sale, and that usually means a store brand. Don't like regular mustard at all unless it's used in cooking, but I never put it as a topping on anything. Like mayo a lot (again, like Duke's brand but will eat any kind).

As for sauces, I have made and really like both bernaise and hollandaise as toppings for asparagus and broccoli, but those are rare actually. Most of the cooking I do for myself is much plainer and doesn't require sauce.

Just to let people in on it if you don't know. Deep Discount is having a buy two - get one free DVD sale that lasts through the 20th. Most of the 200 items they're offering in this promotion are MGM DVDs (and I have such mixed feelings about that company), but you might want to toddle over there just to check them out.

I meant to add there are a few Columbia discs in that promotion: A FEW GOOD MEN, AIR FORCE ONE, ANNIE (the pan and scan second release version - BEWARE!)

I see that Angela Lansbury lost her 17th Emmy bid, this time  to Amanda Plummer last night. The Technical and Craft Emmys are given a week before the other ones, and the Guest Star Emmy categories are given then, too.

Poor Angela! And I really thought this was going to be her year!

I'm up, I'm up.  I slept like a log.  My head alighted on the pillow and I was out like alight.  I got up at eight only because I had to use the restroom, even though I'd been resting quite comfortably in the BEDroom.  And the funny thing is that I didn't rest in the restroom at all.

I think there were just some issues on this here site - I couldn't open the board at all (the main site address worked fine) - I dropped support a line and now it seems to be fine.

DRGEORGE posted one of my favorite songs!!!  It must be seen in the film JUST FOR YOU with Bing and Jane to be fully appreciated....  I love that song!  In fact DRGEORGE sent me a CD single of it! :)

Brooks Catsup
Hellman's Mayo
French's mustard

Don't like many sauces...BUT Chicken Alfredo is usually very good.  And I like beef stroganoff if that has a sauce....hmmm....  Now I'm hungry.

DR ELMORE look at the index!

The interesting thing about support is that they never respond - they do fix the problem but they never write back and say "Sorry there was a problem" or explain what went on, or even just say, "fixed".

We're about ready to roll the college caravan out to Cincinnati.  Which reminds me there's a local history book titled Vas You Ever in Zinzinnati?

I love "Zing a Little Zong," too. In fact, I just rewatched JUST FOR YOU a few weeks ago, and enjoyed it all over again.

Too bad Jane Wyman never found herself in any first rate musicals rather than the star vehicles she did with Bing at Paramount. I'd loved to have seen what MGM could have done with her in a musical with all of that superb behind-the-scenes talent they had.

And please don't attack me about that "first rate musical" remark I made above. I LOVE HERE COMES THE GROOM and JUST FOR YOU; they're both excellent films, but they aren't SINGIN' IN THE RAIN.
