Too bad you typed THE OFFICE correctly.    :D

Good Afternoon!

I had a positively groovy morning at Ripley-Grier playing disco songs for a few hours.  And there were some amazing singers called in, including BK's beloved, and our very own, Juliana Hansen.  -And, I have to say, she looked stunning!  S-t-u-n-n-i-n-g!  A great dress, and legs for days!

*And, DR Jrand - Lisa Brescia also came in.  -And she was also at the Evita call I played last week - and I meant to tell you that last week.

After the auditions were done, and we finished early, I just walked around the studios for a bit.  I did notice that Mill Mountain was in the room around the corner from us, but I did not spot DR Ben's ever-lovin' Ant.  However, I did run into DR elmore's pal, Joseph Kolinksi, as well as my friend, Anne Kanengeiser - always a pleasure to see her.  She played Fosca when I did Passion, and she was Eleanor Roosevelt when I played Eleanor: An American Love Story at Ford's Theatre.

...And I even hung out for a little bit again listening to the cast of Sweeney Todd - or Teeny-Tiny Sweeney as it is being called (as opposed to the Roundabout's just Teeney Sweeney - through the door.  I have to say, the actors/singers/instrumentalists have great intonation.

Then when I grabbed lunch downstairs, I ran into the casting director from Arena Stage - which was a good thing, since I was still trying to confirm the schedule for the final set of Damn Yankees auditions next week.

Oh...

BK - Juliana sends her love.  <mwah>

DRMichael Barnum, this morning I sent you the latest Village Voice for your pre-Manhattan perusal.

Hmm... I wonder if I should send DR MBarnum the latest issues of "HX" and "Next" too.

RE: "Invasion" - Well, as DR Ron Pulliam pointed out in his quasi-spoiler post, the show does resemble the famous movie(s).  In fact, from all the previews I've been seeing, I thought that that was the origin of the series in the first place.

In any case, I did like the show.  And it's always nice seeing Eddie Cibrian's dimples.

DRJRand55, it's hot wherever I am!  But it's all Jose's fault.

I had hoped to see the "Martha Stewart: The Apprentice", but since the DVR was already taping the season opener of "America's Next Top Model" (for my roommate, Faith), as well as "So You Think You Can Dance?", I was not able to tune in due to lack of tuner capability - if that makes sense.  I guess I could check to see if it's being rebroadcast on MSNBC like the regular "Apprentice" shows have been.  *But at least Martha's talk-show is getting a daily rebroadcast on cable.

In any case...

"So You Think You Can Dance?" was good last night.  Some of the routines I liked, and some of them I just had to wonder how much of "it" was lack of skill on behalf of the contestants, or just bad choices by the choreographer.  My roommates and I kept thinking they would eventually make everyone do the same routine, to help level the playing field.  But they never did that, so depending on the luck of the draw, they were either totally in their element from week to week, routine to routine, or they were out of their element and comfort zone.

It will be interesting to see what the final routines will be next week.  If there are only two couple left, there would be plenty of time for a full-length routine, rather then the 60-90 seconds they have been getting.

Actually, DRJose, it's one of the few things I cannot blame you for!  The M60 bus was a great idea, and I got a chance to visit with DRElan.  I blame the USAir United Airways totally at the feet of the idiot airlines that took my money but neglected to alert me to a different air terminal.

However, being held as a "security risk" no doubt stems from our acquaintance, so I blame that on you.

I have a recommendation for anyone who wants a quick sweet treat.

They are called Crunch Bars, and take maybe 15 minutes total.  One of the ingredients might sound odd. But trust me, this is delicious!

DR Jose, re: So you Think you can dance

Who are your favs?

I have loved Blake and Melody from the start.  I was very glad for her that she got to dance with Nick.  I think it has to be Camilla and Jamal that go.

Well, I watched INVASION before I read any of the above comments.

Like THRESHOLD last Friday, there were a couple of effecive "boo!" moments, and as DR Ron said, they've set up an INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS scenario. Hard to see how they can extend this over 22 episodes season after season (if it's a hit), but as a set-up for a series, it was OK.

If this is the best drama pilot of the year (according to TV GUIDE's Matt Roush), then this year's new dramatic shows are VERY unpromising.

To be honest, I'm lookimg more forward to the next episode of REUNION (tonight).

I am very lucky that my Time Warner DVR has two built-in tuners, so I can record two programs on separate channels at the same time. One those occasions when there are three shows on at the same time (Sunday at 9, for example, with DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, LAW & ORDER:CI, and ROME), I must retire to the front bedroom where the old HDTV is now residing and watch the show in HD in there while the DVR picks up the other two shows in the den.
