Danise, Ginny and Cillaliz I am now booked into The Comfort Inn Midtown!!  I’m checking in sometime late afternoon or early evening on the 4th, leaving the morning of the 10th.

Great news Jane. I'll be there the 3rd to the 7th

DR Ben, I do collect some playbills and programs, but only from shows that I have seen or that people I know wrote or were in.  I don't think you were being offensive at all.  I do have a lot of extra ones I have had to buy in a lot to get the one I wanted.  I'll eventually sell those on eBay. I'm hoping there are collectors out there who want them!

What's really great about this number is that it's Donald O'Conner's "Big Number" in the show, but he has been in an auto accident and doesn't show up, so Ethel who has been rehearsing it with Mitzi Gaynor goes on (on opening night) and creates a sensation.  Good thing there was an extra costume and plenty of makeup.

Of course the finale of THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS is the BEST ever....considering they come out and sing the title song before it was ever written in a theatre that was torn down half a decade before.

DR CILLA LIZ there are collectors for EVERYTHING!!

My sister is an eBay seller. She goes to flea markets and picks up stuff for practically nothing then sells it.  I am amazed at some of the things that end up being in bidding wars.

Walty is considering getting a tattoo on his lower back.  It would say Pet Me Here.

Oh, my gosh but that made me laugh!

Very comfortable temperatures tonight.

Why do they keep advertising these television programs as comedies when they are NOT funny?

I was doing a little screaming and yelling myself this morning too!

-Now, I'm just waiting to hear from the contractor on the official first rehearsal date.  'Cause once I get that date, then I can figure out when and if I can take a small vacation after Damn Yankees and before Lestat begins.  Wink

Once again, of the three comedies I watched tonight, I much preferred OUT OF PRACTICE. A true ensemble piece done in front of a live audience, the lines have snap and real humor, and the cast is just aces.

I thought KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL started off fairly slow but by the halfway point, it was engaging and I ended up enjoying it OK.

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was laughless for me tonight. A very decided disappointment.

Hmm...

Just checked the weather forecast for the next couple of days...

Tomorrow and Wednesday are supposed to be very nice - mid-70s, sunny and low humidity.  Some rain on Thursday, but Saturday is supposed to be "picture perfect".  71 degrees on October 1.  71 on October 1?!?!?

Alas, according to the current 10-day forecast, they're calling for rain next Wednesday...  But again, that's still ten days away, so...

What the forecast look for your part of the country, DR MattH?

I saw the ratings for last night's shows. DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES went through the roof as expected (though last Thursday's CSI outrated it for the week), and GREY'S ANATOMY also did very, very well.

The Martha Stewart movie with Cybill Shepherd did not do very well for CBS. Added to the very disappointing ratings for Martha's APPRENTICE show last Wednesday on NBC, and I'd say that perhaps the networks have overestimated Martha's appeal.

Her talk show's first two weeks have done average ratings, not a disaster, but not a huge hit either.

High in the upper 80s tomorrow, lower 80s the rest of the week. Low tonight mid 60s but dropping to upper 50s (hooray!) on WEdnesday.

I may or may not go walking tomorrow morning. I have a fairly long list of things I need to go to Wal-Mart to buy, so I want to get there before HUGE crowds set in.

I DVRed MEDIUM and will watch it tomorrow at some point. I did catch the last half of ARRESTED DEVLOPMENT waiting for KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL to come on. I will say Charlize Thearon looked very attractive (but why was she in a little Dutch girl outfit?) I still didn't laugh.

CSI is coming on in its regular Thursday 9 p.m. slot this week and a rerun is also coming on this Saturday at 9 p.m. on this week's CBS Crime Time.

I did watch CSI: MIAMI, and those underwater scenes on high definition film were simply stunning. The location shots of the skyline and oceanfronts always look spectacular in HD, but that underwater stuff tonight was really breathtaking.

'evening!  DR elmore has been here for a lovely visit - he brought the most beautiful bouquet of flowers.

We're now up to, what, 4 HHW gals at the Comfort Inn-Midtown?  I'm there Monday afternoon-Thursday afternoon.

It's cooled off nicely here and we've turned off the AC and opened the windows - good sleeping weather, which I think I'll be off to do.

'night!

I had der B tape it, and we watched it after he was finished with his own stack of shows.  I thought it was funny, had potential, but he already thinks it will just last six eps, total.

Meanwhile, he's already getting hooked on Prision Break.  Another of his "Happy" shows, if you ask me.

I will read the overnight ratings for Monday's shows with great interest. Folks sampled the shows last week, but this week's Monday ratings (and those of most other nights) are going to show some patterns emerging, and that will be interesting to study.
