While I was out and about, like Michael, I also checked into some very necessary hurricane supplies.  After this last trip to NY, I can see that it is time to retire the old Casio digital camera and move to something new.

They happened to have a sale on the Casio Cameras at Circuit City so I took time to go and look them over.  I think I found my replacement.  It's on sale for a very good price on EBay with a 1 meg SD card and extra battery included.  They have 88 of them so it's no rush to get.

TPunk and I have only had one major party in this here dwelling. Maybe 25 people were here for a dual birthday party for myself and the drummer in my band. We have decent space here in the boondocks.

Yes, a friend of mine and I threw a joint party for Rodzinski and her husband.  Killbot of course thought the party was for her and basked in the company.

We served a cold cut platter, pasta salad and I made a ginormous 7-layer dip.  A good time was had by all. I would guess about 25-35 people attended.  Not bad for a NYC apartment.

Just finished watching an episode of CHEYENNE with guest stars Sally Fraser and Rhodes Reason. Clint Walker sure does take his shirt off a lot...and when it wasn't off, it was unbuttoned down to his naval!

Not that I'm complaining.

I lived with three theatre friends during the summer of 2001 in a great little house while we were all involved with Fiddler, Brigadoon, and Sound of Music.  Over the course of the season, our place became the "party house."  There were at least a friend or two hanging out with us most every night, and a few larger gatherings.  Of course this meant we had to have a proper end-of-the-season bash, which involved basically the entire summer theatre company (about 40 people, I'd guess), various snacks and beverages (never thought I'd see our company's founder/producer doing shots in my kitchen), a good variety of party dance music selected by one of my roommates, and just all around great times.

The only downside to that entire summer was our one VERY cranky neighbor.  She found it necessary to call the police and complain about our party that night.  When the police officer arrived, she said that we weren't too loud at all and had absolutely nothing to worry about.  Turns out this neighbor is well known throughout the town as a real crank, and when the complaint came from her the officer took her time even arriving, fairly certain there would be no noise problem.  Basically, the neighbor complained only because there were a bunch of cars in front of our house.  Oh well, no harm done and a great party!

I am watching THE LONGEST HUNT...I can't decide if I like it or not. I am not a big fan of spaghetti westerns, but this one is interesting...and of course we all know how much I like Brian Kelly.

Pat Boone shirtless.
Bobby Darin stiff.
Pamela Tiffen lovely.
Tom Ewell serenading a sow.
Alice Faye looking worn.
Ann-Margret creating sparks.
And that's only the 1960's version directed, or misdirected by Jose Ferrer. . .

I know that our esteemed BK has met Ms. Debbie Boone, but, has he ever met her dad?
I met the Boone clan when they performed in Monroeville, PA, many moons ago at The Holiday House, a very popular nightclub; this was long after STATE FAIR and long before "You Light Up My Life."

I met Pat and Debby and other Boone's back in 1972 - one of his daughters was dating a fellow named Chip Hand - Chip somehow got me on The Merv Griffen Show (Merv liked Chip), and we did a "backer's audition" of my first musical (Start At The Top) on the show.  Chip brought me over to the Boone's home environment - they were all very nice.  I played Pat some of my songs, several of which he really liked.

I have it on good authority that Marni Nixon dubbed for Lana Turner in "Singin' in the Rain."

I met Pat Boone in Perth, Australia, of all places, by a hotel rooftop swimming pool.  He was in town for some concert or other and he, I and two other people were sunning by the pool.  It was Christmas Eve, 1986, IIRC.

I said "Hello" and he said "Hi!" back.

I cannot properly account for all of my day, for some reason.  I know I washed windows with my Scunci steamer.

And I watched "Batman Begins" and "Pinocchio" on DVD.

Loved the first, adored the second.

"Batman Begins" was interesting to me.  I don't have BK's or MattH's HUGE TV screens to watch it on, so I can only say it played very well on my modest, small-apartment-sized Sony.  Christian Bale is a terribly interesting actor...but I'd like to see him play "warmth" sometime.

I've won a few eBay auctions today.

One was unbelievable...I won a mint window card (14 X 22) (original) for "Raintree County" -- for $1.

Nobody bid but me, and starting bid was $1.

I won a linen-backed one-sheet from "Desiree", too...at a decent $50.

I've got some stew heating on the stove, and some cornbread is thawing on the counter (will warm it when the stew is ready for consumption).

DR Jane:  I truly believed "Mar Mitzvah" was a ceremony I hadn't heard of before...
