I survived my meeting with the dreaded Dr. C. yesterday. Now I only have to go to his Chamber of Horrors today and Monday and then whenever the final is. The end is in sight.

Umm, does floop count as a pasta dish? It has chow mein noodles in it.

Or, prepare dinner, take it to them and then return home.  She doesn't need to be around the father, either.

If she prepares dinner she risks getting her sore throat germsies in the food which her sister will eat and then she can pass those germies on to the wee one when she's feeding her, changing her etc.... and if its a very sore throat it may be strep which can be very serious for an infant.

I strongly urge you to err on the side of caution, tell them "Sorry, I won't be there" and let them send out for dinner

Wednesday greetings!

TOD - One of the restaurants near my workplace where I often go for lunch or dinner is Nothing But Noodles.  My favorite menu item is the Three Cheese Macaroni with broccoli added.

I know this might be a stupid question.  But I wore plastic gloves when preparing the meatballs i'm making.  And they still have to bake for 30 minutes later.  Would my germs still be there after all that heat?

I will definitely see what the doc says, maybe it's not serious and maybe i'm not contagious.  If he says i should not go, then i won't.  But i'd rather see what's wrong before i decide.

And I was feeling totally fine last night and actually saw the baby. Although I did not hold her, I did touch her hand. :(

I was just about to post the link to the Playbill article.  It was lovely to see it in print.

About two months ago, the hot water in my home environment became VERY hot, like twice as hot as it had ever been.  I simply adjusted the amount of cold water I was using, and all was well.  This morning, the VERY hot water is tepid, bordering on VERY tepid.  I do not like tepid water, hence the plumber will be here between noon and one-thirty to figure out what the HELL is going on.

I'm talking about YOU.. you are the "she" who does not need to be exposed to the father.

Cold germs mutate....by exposing both the father and your niece to yours can make the father worse and possibly cause the baby to get sick.  And exposing yourself to the father's germs...well, HELLO!  After being around them last night, that's probably why you are sick today!

Speaking of germs and mutations....my boss has been out of work the past two days.  She was only just back from a two-week trip to India two weeks ago.  She returned all full of joy that she managed to return hale and hearty.

Two days after her return, she began coming down with something that plagued her all three workdays last week (in fact, she left early every day and it was luck that saw her fit to attend her birthday luncheon last Wednesday).

That said, she's been like death warmed over this week and today is her first day back.

I rode up in the elevator with her this morning. Another person was with us.  My boss let out a series of hacking coughs that would shame the banshees.  The other person recoiled against the side of the elevator car with a look of near-terror.

So, my boss is in her office gamely attempting to take care of some things needing her attention, but she has coughing fits that would raise the dead.  And every time she's on the phone, she treats the person she's talking to with a full ear-blast of coughing (one of her "I am sick" trademarks, unfortunately).

I pray she will give it up and go home...before she's the death of the rest of us.

All I can tell you, as the mother of a former infant, I remember spending countless nights walking the floor with a inconsolable crying baby who was sick because some well meaning relative or friend came over when they were feeling under the weather because they "didn't want to disappoint" me or "cancel at the last minute".    Believe me. a sick infant is something you need to avoid.  Not to mention,  if there is any chance you do have strep throat  or beginnings of the flu,  both of which can cause very  high fevers in an infant, it  could land your beloved niece in the hospital and undergoing a spinal tap which is no fun either.

But hey that's just my opinion....ask your sister what she thinks

I hope you feel better soon and that it's nothing serious

They don't make sophistikated pitchers no more.  It don't say so in the credits, but from the poster I would say Bonzo was being played by Mighty Joe Young.  8)

No sign of Freddie this morning when I left for work.

He had best be home tonight or there will be heck to pay (and I will begin to worry).
