Things you learn whilst staying in Japantown:  There are no Japanese stores of any kind that carry something known as a hairbrush.  I had to walk about eight blocks to find a market, and even then, they had the weirdest selection of hairbrushes I've ever seen.  Hopefully, the one I purchased will get the job done.

I bought some melon balls or whatever that cut-up stuff is, and I must say it's the worst melon I've ever tasted.

I did, however, get a proper Diet Coke.

Do you mean "Koi" tower, as in the fish?

Or as in Coit Tower, the name of the tower in San Francisco?

By the time I realized he was going to be in S.F., I was fighting a cold that I am still fighting.

Since he is "singing" tonight, the last person he needs to be around is someone who might give him a sore throat...or strep.

I've long wanted to be a part of some H/K gathering, even if it's just two people.

But he's better off not seeing me this go-round.

:(

Oh, yes...clam juice.

It really grosses my family out when I leave the jar of clam juice in the refrigerator too long!

Is Mr Sondheim staying at the Hisaka Hotel?

Here's the funny thing:  All along, I've been told that Sondheim's assistant has said that Steve is being very cooperative and sending them lots of stuff.  That would imply that Steve (Mr. S) is indeed being very cooperative and allowing his assistant to be helpful, at least that's the way they're seeing it up here.  I asked a few weeks ago if he was coming up, and they said they hadn't had word, but didn't think so.

When I asked Steve for the signed musical quote, I told him that Mr. Haines would be up there, performing, and that they were doing the Yiddish Sondheim thing from What If (I later found out they weren't - and they SHOULD have done it, because the show needs something like that). When he sent me the musical quote, he wrote that he didn't even know about the SF thing - hadn't heard about it at all, and no, he wasn't going.
He then asked me to send him a copy of the Yiddish Sondheim thing.  This I would like to do - so, can someone who has one of the DVDs I sent out, please copy just that number onto a DVD-R, and send it to me?

Oh, and the signed musical quote from Sweeney Todd fetched over $500.

We have not seen The Polar Express... I shall have to rent it

Library factoid for today - my system has 52 copies of the DVD, all checked out, with a request list of 382!

Now I can watch KING OF QUEENS, switch to KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL, and back for Two and Half Men and Out of Practice.

I can SKIP the terrible HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (even though I like Neil Patrick Harris).

At least that got rid of that terribly written and acted STILL STANDING on Monday night and moved it to Wednesday or Thursday or something.

Wow DRGINNY - maybe I should watch POLAR EXPRESS.  It just didn't look like my kind of movie.

They are advertising the LORD OF THE RINGS exhibit heavily, DRGINNY, so there might be some lines or waiting for the exhibit!

I didn't even know there was a Japantown, only a Chinatown in SF.  I remember walking around there.  And also having some kind of chowder in a bread bowl.

Btw, BK why do you need a hairbrush?

Do men even use hairbrushes? I thought they only used combs! :)

We've already purchased our timed tickets for 11am Sunday, right when the museum opens.  If we get there early enough Saturday, we'll go pick them up so we can proceed right to the exhibit Sunday morning.

I also hope you feel better.

That first comment reminded me of me Friday waving to my 11 week old niece through her glass door.  I think I looked pathetic! :(

Right now the plan is to go there on Wednesday night to view the Season Finale of America's Next Top Model (I don't get UPN).

Cheese spread with a blue cheese flavor - not to everyone's liking.  It can be hard to find in stores around here.

I've never heard of it.  It sounds good though.  I've never tried clam dip.  I didn't study the recipe. But don't you have to put the clams in a food processor or something.  Or do you eat them all whole and lumpy. That sounds so weird.  Although like I said i've never tried clam dip.

No, the people at the other place met with the fellow who is putting the show together (prior to him getting in touch with me) - when he queried them about recording the show (he was put together with them by the person who is now ostensibly "running" the company), they said they didn't think Sondheim sold.  That was enough for him, and that, along with some other statements they made, led him to contact me and meet with me in LA.

DR Jennifer - If you purchase canned minced clams, they're chopped up pretty fine.

Re: last night's DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.

SPOILERS
.
.
.

I still don't like the Applewhite story.

Susan's story with her father is just okay.  It was slightly amusing watching his wife chase after Susan.  But really I don't see the point.

The daycare story was okay.  Perhaps it was done so lynnette might have some interaction with her kids.

I think the Gabby story with the nun is pretty hilarious.  The evil nun who looks like an angel is funny. Although not sure if she will be on again.

Bree's story sort of dropped the ball this week. I did like the beginning scenes with the police at george's house.  And i liked how Bree held her head high. And I liked when she told the other women.  But I don't know if i want to see her son go after her.  And I hate how her son is acting.  I didn't mind the part of the scene in the bedroom (andrew and justin) when they were discussing andrew's plan to go after his mom.  But the whole idea of him telling Bree that he could do what he wanted in his room sort of made me cringe.  Especially since the Bree we all know would never allow that.

I will be curious to see if he uses the info she told him.  Usually we'd see a huge grin.  But I almost thought he might keep the info to himself.
