What prompted you to listen to THE ROTHSCHILDS?I remember one of the critics from way back when saying that "Allons" was basic high-school French. That critic happens to live in our building and I just saw him on the elevator, so I was free associating. I've always wanted to ask him what high school he learned French in if "Allons" was high-school French. But of course I lack the nerve (a WIZARD OF OZ reference).
Since I'm still on a Cy Coleman kick, I'd have to say my favorite Christmas song is "Lovers on Christmas Eve.""We Need a Little Christmas" was a real favorite also, until someone pointed out that Jerry Herman had used the same music for "It Takes a Woman" give or take a note or two.
Actually, Jill Clayburgh just starred in a play (A NAKED GIRL ON THE APPIAN WAY) on Broadway that ran its limited run, and is set to open in BAREFOOT IN THE PARK in a few months.
He's having breakfast, and I'm going to bed.Good night, all!
Am I the only one who sees the name of the movie MBarnum is watching - RAJA JANI - and thinks of the Jewish new year Rosh Hashana?Maybe Raja Jani should be a cause for celebration.
Jed, giving counter-LOL.At the elementary school level there are plenty of songs to challenge their voices, IMHO. I had no objection to the songs chosen by the choir teacher in Middle School-but then that school was sensitive to the "other" populations of students. If you had been the music instructor and had explained why non-Jesus mentioning songs weren’t musically challenging I’m sure I would have felt differently than I did. When these songs were included due to lack of sensitivity or prejudice against other races and religions it was very upsetting.
