I didn't get to see the picture of the madelines, but I have wanted one since DR MATTHEW posted about them earlier today.

How am I going to get one if it's only two degrees outside?

Isn't this the week that Barbara Walters is going to tell us where Heaven is, what it is, and how to get there?

I don't even remember her named being mentioned in the King James Version of the Bible.  Maybe I should read that DaVinci Code Book.

Is any DR bidding on that Walk-On Part in DR JOSE's production of DAMN YANKESS at Arena Stage?  If one us wins, I bet DR JOSE could give us a play on AND a play out.

I would want the few bars from the I Love Lucy theme!  Any one else with a preference?

Hello, all (and sundry):  My mom is catching up on her soaps (VHS recordings) which she missed this afternoon as we spent the day driving to, through, around and from Greenville SC.  We also ate.  And we shopped.  And shopped.  And shopped.

I lived there from 1957 until I entered the Navy in 1970.  My folks lived there until they both retired and moved to Virginia in 1989.  (They relocated to SC in 1993).

The city is much changed from my "halcyon" days.  I still love it, but I don't think I could live there again.

That said, it was our (my mother, maternal aunt and me...and the second time for my cousin) fifth annual December pilgrimage and we have a good time.

I spent a few bucks in Macy's which was having an incredible sale...30% off the already 20% reduced prices on certain men's clothing items.  I have a TON of socks now, and I LOVE socks!

During the trip, my cousin, with whom we always dine on Christmas eve, was trying to find out what everyone wanted for dinner.  We are having bbq chicken the night before, and we're having pork loin on Christmas day.  So...in the spirit of BK's holiday "Christmas Eve dinner", I suggested spaghetti.

And guess who gets to cook the sauce?  I don't mind.  In fact, I'm anticipating it.  My first time cooking for the family as a large group.  They won't know what hit 'em.

I have a vague memory of Maury Yeston coming into the BMI workshop some time around '77 or '78 and playing songs for "The Star Wars Christmas Album", which he had been contracted to write.

All I really remember is "What Do You Get a Wookie for Christmas", and the punch-line was "a comb".

sigh

A friend of mine has a bootleg tape with couple of songs written by Charles Strouse for a proposed Star Wars stage musical!

Topic of the Day...here are just a few of my favorite performers, and since I don't really care what they've done, I didn't list any specific performances:

Lucille Ball
Carol Burnett
Imogene Coca
Judy Holliday
Madelaine Kahn
Bette Midler
Kathy Najimy
Rosalind Russell

That rule would apply as long as the strike is in effect. At least that's how I understand it...

I do think that the 4 people to a car rule only applies during the morning, maybe until 11? (you know, when we are all on our way to work...) and that it's for any cars entering the city below 96th street (you know, every major bridge and tunnel)

I won't be able to get downtown to work at GMHC, but one girl I work with lives in the city and drives; she said that she would pick me up and take me up to the bronx. That way I can say goodbye to my kids before their christmas vacation and give them their presents.

Went to the California Pizza Kitchen with Miss Tammy Minoff - I had carbonara, which they finally reinstated to the menu after a two-year hiatus.  Quite yummilicious.

I'll have to listen to my CD again with copies of the two songs.  This doesn't sound familiar, but it could be that Chuck is singing it and he didn't sing the demo.

I think the "Deceit[/color]" website is great!  I didn't realize at first that there are apartment windows in the letters.  Cool! ;D

Good Evening!

Greetings from Richmond...

The drive down was uneventful (thankfully) - as usual.  Once I got into town, I made a stop at Ukrop's... They have nice bathrooms there.  ;)

Then I finished up some Christmas shopping at Lane Sanson, Mongrel and World of Mirth.  Then I spent some time in my storage unit digging out a few things.  Well, two things to be exact.  I found both of them right off the bat, however, one of things - a computer program - is not the right "version".  I actually found my original floppy discs for the program - both the 5-1/4" and the 3-1/2" ones - remember those things? ;)   But I couldn't find the CD-ROM for the last upgrade.  I am trying to qualify for a competitive upgrade, and I think I'm going to need the CD-ROM (master disc), but... ya' never know.  Then it was over to Steve's...
