Has anyone ever caught this moronic show for women, STARTING OVER, speaking of tv's worst?  The shrink on it just referred to a person's "uncomfortableness."  Is that a real word?  What the hell happened to "discomfort"?

Okay well I guess I now know why they stopped showing The Closer here.   They have aired all 13 new episodes!

Now, I do have one TOD question:  programs we watched in 2005 or programs that debuted in 2005?  My first list was only of show debuting in 2005.

DRJMK, I do think DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES has jumped the shark and will never recover.  I'm not certain when it happened, but I think they burned out of plots in all the frenzy last year and lost their way with the storylines.  It needs to be overhauled by its writers to find its ultimate direction.  I stopped laughing and caring.  I now call JOEY "Dead Horse" since they keep flogging it to make it work, and I think WILL AND GRACE should have been put to sleep several years ago before it became shrill, sloppy, and dirty when it once was naughty and nice.

Good Afternoon!

I finally got to bed around 5:00am.   I was just not tired last night.  Ah, well.  But I did sleep until Noon, so I got a decent night's/morning's sleep.  And now...

I slept for another hour and am feeling better.

Deceit is a one-set play.  The website will be updated shortly with new bios, photos, and a corrected link that will go directly to our page rather than the home page of tix.com.  The holidays have slowed all this down to a crawl, as you might imagine.

Since a week before moving I have not seen any TV at all.  I've not called the cable company here yet, because we're planning on going out and getting wide-screen HD TVs sometime this week.

I must say I've not missed television at all in the last three weeks.  I've been able to watch some DVDs and videos but very few.  It's been wonderful not to couch-potato it and have mindless sludge wash over me and, say, read a book instead.  I hope I can not fall into bad habits again once we're connected and resist the temptation to sit glazed-eyed in front of time-killing mediocrity.

I've always been amazed at how much I don't miss TV when I don't have ready access to a set and a cable box.  There have been a couple of gigs over the years where the amenities have been, let's say, spare.  And usually, a TV (and cable) are considered "luxuries" - meaning, "if you want it, you have to pay for it yourself".  So...

Books.  Movies.  Restaurants.  Walks.  Shows.  Etc., etc., etc.  Or just spending time with my friends and "co-workers".

*But there are times when being a couch-potato can be a good thing.

Don't faint, bk, but I'm actually going to post.
Christmas this year was one of the best I can remember.  Bouncing back and forth between Jed's house and mine was great fun, and we got to spend lots of time with both families.  Present-wise, I scored big this year.  Among the favorites was an ipod, which I've been wanting for a while, a programable coffeemaker, from the wonderful DB Jed, and of course the new (used) car that my dad bought for me yesterday and I'll have sometime next week.  Yes, I'm spoiled... :D

Yes, I'm quite certain it was a combo-platter of a very rich dinner (carbonara) and a ton of fudge, toffee, donuts, and whatever else I could stuff into my gaping maw.

I am munching my way through a bag of chocolate covered Maine cranberries from L.L. Bean.  Yummy!  (But bad--I haven't had lunch yet.)

It does sound like I'm missing a lot of quality TV material.  At some point in the past few years, I lost touch with series television.  I watch most of AMERICAN MORNING on CNN, and NY1's ONSTAGE series, and tend to have NY1 News in the background a lot of the time I'm at home.  But I guess they're not the kinds of shows we're talking about for Top Ten lists.

Skip seems to watch HOUSE, THE GHOST WHISPERER, MEDIUM and the first CSI series fairly regularly.

DRELMOORE - when I saw it the first time, I thought it was a comedy sketch.  It is indeed one of the WORST shows on tv.  The whole premise is dumb and the "problems" created by those women are completely manufactured.  I especially like the "drama" created when some woman "returns to the house."

Idiot show.

There's one major flaw in a Don Black lyric

Only one?  You're just not trying hard enough.   ;D

All you DR who watch Medium, The Closer, and The Ghost Whisperer be sure to stop by the World of Wisdom when you are in Indiana - we have some nice merchandise for you.

You, too, can be a medium, a closer, or a ghost whisperer!

I'm just happy the ghosts who flounce through this apartment about once a month are not whispering.

Do you have the Aleister Crowley Thoth Tarot deck or any other of the Great Beast's paraphenalia?  I may or may not have belonged to a certain occult order associated with Uncle Al back in my hippified youth.   ;)

Or:

That it's frequently sung to a "tune" by ALW?   ;D

(I, too, love the Barry Alice, hence my original post.  And I actually like Black's early stuff, like the Bond lyrics and even (stop laughing) Born Free.)
