Answer to DR Ron Pulliam;

Me, offended? Nah! Not at all!
On the contrary, your comments were positive but I just wanted to know more!

It's not every day that French folks are congratulated by the Hollywood community; I guess they were giddy but in a more subdued way than Mr Benigni...

I did not see the Award Ceremony myself!

Found a copy of the BK Executive produced Bay Cities released cd of Brent Spiner "Ol' Yellow Eyes Is Back", but the French pressing by Milan... this very evening!
I mean... I found it this very evening!

Otherwise, I've been listening to GYPSY again, the original, and it still sounds the best!

Did I miss a new "Smallville" last night?  Time totally got away from me.

While the new CSI was airing, I was totally on the phone and not able to follow the story.

No, it was the rerun where Martha was dying.

George - To add to the confusion over time travel musicals, Variety reported the other day that the film SOMEWHERE IN TIME will soon be a musical as well.

It all started with A Connecticut Yankee.

But could it be staged today?  It's about as un-PC as one could imagine.  Just like the poor late lamented "Rape" from The Fantasticks.

Well, it is based on Henry Fielding's RAPE UPON RAPE!  I saw THE FANTASTICKS many times up to its closing, and the "Rape Song" was always in it.

I watched, last night, my tape of Wednesday's episode of "Invasion"....GREAT STUFF!

This show really moves in unexpected directions and has unsettling diversions that remind me of the best elements of "The X-Files" while being completely different from that show.

I loved it, too, and the plot has really been picking up steam. I read comments earlier in the season where people complained that the show was too slow moving, but I never thought that, and now, it's really going strong.

As I mentioned, I think the finale is coming up soon.

I thought CSI was a repeat last night for some reason so I didn't watch it.... Vixdad tells me I missed a good one. DRAT!

Oh well it will show up in Spike eventually.

And Spike is...??...your "CSI"-episode-on-DVD-eating dog?

I didn't get as much watched this afternoon as I wanted due to telephone calls either. And I have call waiting, so I was having calls on top of calls. Irritating!

I did watch FUNNY FACE. This is the first time I've seen it on my larger screen TV, and it is such a beautifully designed movie. Looked very, very good.

I also watched the short documentary on the disc - PARAMOUNT IN THE 50s. The feature hits a few of the highlights that Paramount had during the decade beginning with SUNSET BOULEVARD, but, of course, a really thorough documentary on such a topic would be of epic length. Paramount had a super decade in the 1950s with so many highlights.

Since I had limited time, I plucked the CSI Season 3 boxed set off te shelf and played the very first episode of it. Hadn't seen this in awhile, and it was great to see such wonderful guests stars in the show: Cliff DeYoung, Ian Summerhalder, J.P. Pitoc, among others in this episode.

This one had a running commentary with it, so after I finished the show, I started playing it again listening to the writer and director of the episode talking about it. Only got about 10 minutes in, and the phone rang effectively ending my afternoon of viewing.

My friend who's visiting had already told me he'd like to see the SORDID LIVES DVD tonight. His theater alliance recently did the stage version of the show, and he wants to see how the film compares.

DR Jennifer:  I joined the IdolonFox Message Board yesterday and spent some time early last night reading what folks were saying.  As it turned out, it's "real time" and I found out who was ejected three hours earlier than the show aired here.

Most of the threads were moaning and groaning about Gedeon being evicted,.

That said, one thread asked folks to rank the Top12 based on how they currently feel about them.

To my surprise, Elliot was in the top 5 of most of them, along with Mandisa, Chris, Katherine and Kellie.  On several Kellie was replaced by Taylor.  Taylor topped a couple of lists.

I know it's not an accurate barometer, but it's at least an indication of what some fans are currently thinking.

A lot of last night's rage was directed at Kevin who stayed in place of Gedeon.  Few, if any, thought Will's ouster was unfair.

Has it been removed from the score for new productions?

It is a national cable channel, but it's changed names a couple of times, and DR Ron may either not have known about the last name change or his cable system may not subscribe to it.

From what I've read here in the past, I believe it has been.

Sweetie!  I know what Spike TV is.

My comment was directed at your phrase that the missed episode will show up "in" Spike eventually....as if Spike were some creature that ate it...and that it might "turn up" later.

Are you still achy??? :P

I have gotten much more enjoyment from both Gedeon and Will than Kevin. I understand his appeal, but I think the others have better voices and had more personality, too.

Well, it is based on Henry Fielding's RAPE UPON RAPE!  I saw THE FANTASTICKS many times up to its closing, and the "Rape Song" was always in it.

Well yes, THE Fantasticks.  But I understood that for non-Sullivan-Steet-Theatre theatres they had written a replacement song that was not so shocking to virgin ears (!!).

And speaking of the movie of Lock Up Your Daughters, I recall that the script actually combined elements of LUYD and Virtue in Danger.  Or was that a different movie?  I seem to recall Christopher Plummer as a real über-fop.

And that said, I cannot help but run to the imdb:

Quote
Cast overview, first billed only:
Christopher Plummer ....  Lord Foppington
Susannah York ....  Hilaret
Glynis Johns ....  Mrs. Squeezum
Ian Bannen ....  Ramble
Tom Bell ....  Shaftoe
Elaine Taylor ....  Cloris
Jim Dale ....  Lusty
Kathleen Harrison ....  Lady Clumsey
Roy Kinnear ....  Sir Tunbelly Clumsey
Georgia Brown ....  Nell
Vanessa Howard ....  Hoyden
Roy Dotrice ....  Gossip
Fenella Fielding ....  Lady Eager
Paul Dawkins ....  Lord Eager
Peter Bayliss ....  Mr. Justice Squeezum

Well, I recall seeing it in 1969 when it came out.  But I don't recall Bart's stage score being in it.  Am I confused?

Anyway, I must leave work, so your reply will fall on deaf ears to be archived and read at a later time.

I just read that Fox's hit series HOUSE was renewed for a third season today. That really isn't much of a surprise, of course, since it is Fox's highest rated scripted series and second only to AMERICAN IDOL in popularity on the network.
