A Snickers bar sounds SO good.

During my errands this afternoon, I did stop by a local drug store and buy some M&Ms on sale (peanut only) and also some jelly beans for a quick snack.

Had a grand dinner with dear friends Gregg and John. I had lasagna and garlic bread, and I ate every crumb. Haven't had either in a long, long time, and I really loved it.

John wasn't in a mood to see a complete movie, so we settled instead for excerpts from three musical films.

First up was DAMN YANKEES where we watched "A Little Brains, a Little Talent," "Who's Got the Pain," Shoeless Joe," "Those Were the Good Old Days," and "Two Lost Souls."

I had forgotten that Tab Hunter actually does some dancing in that number. My memory is that he played "chair bongos" while everyone else danced, but he didn't actually get out there and do some steps. Good for him!

Next we put in CAROUSEL where we watched "June Is Bustin' Out All Over," "This Was a Real Nice Clambake," "Stonecutters Cut It on Stone," and both versions of "You'll Never Walk Alone."

"Blow High, Blow Low" is on the soundtrack album, but the number has never been seen to my knowledge. Does anyone know if it was filmed and cut or was it never filmed? Is there a chance we might see the footage in the new CAROUSEL DVD release later this year?

Piece of cake drive back up 95, and, boy, is it still warm outside. I believe the last weather report I heard in the car said it was still 68 degrees outside!

I cant eat snickers bars... I had a very bad experience taht cannot be discussed on the boards... I am not allergic to anything to peanuts or anything...

I do love MnM's especially the regular ones. I also liked the dark chocolate ones when they were out. They were good.

Tomorrow, I'll be sitting down to do my taxes. I've been having them done for the last 20+ years, but after the hefty fee I had to pay to have them done last year, I am determined to give them a go myself this year. Since I've retired, they're considerably simpler than they used to be, and several friends who have similar investments have said I shouldn't have any trouble. I've got everything laid out and tomorrow's the day I'm going to make a start (and hopefully a finish).

This afternoon, I did watch THE MERCHANT OF VENICE on the DVR. Al Pacino's accent didn't jibe very well with the British accents on the rest of the company. Don't know why that bothered me since I love the Brando JULIUS CAESAR which has a mix of British and American players.

I also started watching MRS. PARKER AND THE VICIOUS CIRCLE. I saw it years ago when it first came out and never since. Lots of these people are more familiar faces to me now than they were when I first saw them, so I'm enjoying it more than I did the first time around.

I have mixed feelings about Pacino in that role. I do agree he did a decent job.

I thought Brando did well in that role.

Sometimes I think it is a presence they present in the character. Some can pull it off and others cannot.
