I got one a couple of years ago from www.efilmic.com, but you had to have a specific link, you couldn't (and still can't) find it by doing a search on the site.  I no longer have that specific link, though. :-\ The copy that I got looks darn good enough for me. :)

Does your copy have the song, "Sooner or Later"?  It's sung by Hattie McDaniel as she works in the kitchen.  One of my favorite songs.  I bought one of those DVDs from some outfit and that song was missing, but I have it on a VHS tape made from the Japanese-issued laserdisc.

DR RLP - thanks for the Garland-Edens-Stoll photo AND for the CHIPS link. I will be ordering it as well....

As for the paper that MR BK is doing for DR TPUNK....please remember that the correct spelling is Faery Dust!

I stopped at the Salvation Army store on the way home and I am now the proud owner of my own Marcy & Little Marcy LP, The Serendipity Singers, the Complete Musical Play London Cast of MAN OF LA MANCHA 2-LP's, and a record cover that I will be scanning a bit later!

Found great gems at the Orlando Salvation Army Thrift store when I lived in Florida; gave them back a lot of Lps though when I had to come back to France, which I thought was... funny!

GREAT Mancha set! Got mine in the seventies when I was living in Montréal! Joan Diener sings on it as well as on the French recording... in French bien sûr!

Barbara Cook does a great version of it... as well as Dodo Day!
I even believe I have a version by Rosie!

"You're Gonna Knock On My Door
You've Done It Before!..."

Always thought there was some sexual inuendo there! ;)

Sooner or Later!

A Disney song which got nominated twice, at different years.... and with different composers BUT same title!

NO! I don't have the Madonna version, while I have the "BK" one!

This is the version that can be heard in the SPLASH MOUNTAIN ride of the Disney Parks!

Sooner Or Later

Performed by Sis Rabbit (and Bunnies)

Sooner or Later that rabbit is gonna come home (he's comin')
I'll betcha, I'll betcha that he'll get there.
You wait and see! (Will he, mama?)

Sooner or Later Brer Fox'll be letting him go (ooh, ooh)
I'll betcha (ooh, ooh) Brer Rabbit's gonna free him.
You wait and see! (You wait and see.)

He's gonna trick ol' Brer Fox
Get away by his talks
Matter-of-factly I don't know exactly when. (aah, aah)

But Sooner or Later that rabbit is gonna come home
(gonna come home)
He's learned his lesson again.

He's gonna fool ol' Brer Bear (yeah!)
Escape from his lair (he is!)
Matter-of-factly I don't know exactly when. (Sooner or Later!)

But Sooner or Later that rabbit is gonna come home
(gonna come home)
He's learned his lesson again!

Sooner or Later that rabbit is gonna come home (he's comin')
I'll betcha, I'll betcha that he'll get there.
You wait and see! (Will he, mama?)

You done it before
Matter of factly I don't know exactly when

While the movie's song focused on Uncle Remus' hunger for some of Sis Tempy's outstanding gooseberry pie, the sheet music version addressed love:

You and I said goodbye
With a friendly kiss
And though I'm not the surest kind,
I'm kinda sure of this:

Sooner or later you're gonna be comin' around, I'll betcha;
I'll betcha that I getcha, you wait and see.
Sooner or later you'll wanna be hangin' around, I'll letcha;
I'll betcha if I letcha, you'll baby me.

You're gonna knock on my door
(knock knock)
You did it before
(knock knock)
Matter o'factly I don't know exactly when.

But sooner or later you're gonna be comin' around and want my lovin' again.

AND... a view of the original sheet music!
(Wish I had it!)

And yet another "Sooner or Later" hit song:

Sooner or later, love is gonna get ya
Sooner or later, girl, you've got to give in
Sooner or later, love is gonna let ya
Sooner or later, love is gonna win
Its just a matter of time
Before you make up your mind
To give all that love that you've been hiding
Its just a question of when
I've told you time and again
I'll get all the love you've been denying
Sooner or later, love is gonna get ya
Sooner or later, girl, you've got to give in
Sooner or later, love is gonna let ya
Sooner or later, love is gonna win
You say you'll never be mine
But darling, they'll come a time
I'll taste all that love that you've been hiding
Its just a question of time
Before you make up your mind
And give all that love you've been denying
You've been looking for love
In all the wrong places
You've been looking for love
All the wrong faces
Gotta get ya girl
On this illusion
Gonna save your heart
From all this confusion
Sooner or later, love is gonna get ya
Sooner or later, girl, you've got to give in
Sooner or later, love is gonna let ya
Sooner or later, love is gonna win
Love is gonna win
Its just a matter of time
Before you make up your mind
And give all the love that you've been hiding
Its just a question of when
Told you time and again
I'll get all the love you've been denying
Sooner or later, love is gonna get ya
Sooner or later, girl, you've got to give in
Sooner or later, love is gonna let ya
Sooner or later, love is gonna win
Sooner or later, love is gonna get ya
Sooner or later, girl, you've got to give in

I don't remember!  I'll check.  I also have the PAL VHS from England and had it copied to NTSC.  I can check that, too.

http://www.songofthesouth.net/memorabilia/sheetmusic/us/sooner.html

Actually? there's a story there! Yes, there is!

MANY years ago, when I was a "Canadian", I used to cross the border with a friend and explore Vermont. In some modest shop I did find that VERY music sheet. It was not very expensive but still I could not afford it and my friend ended up buying it for his collection!

Same thing happened a few weeks after for an old copy of Life magazines that has some article on Sleeping Beauty with photos I had never seen.
So.... if you're interested in those items, I'll give you my friend's address -- He's in Ottawa now! -- I'm sure they're still in his Disney collection. ;D

For those who enjoy this sort of thing, I wanted to share with you the photo I won on eBay. Here are Judy Garland, Roger Edens and Georgie Stoll (conductor, in the background) going over music for "Presenting Lily Mars"

I finished listening to The Irish...and how they got that way, and now am listening to On the Twentieth Century with John Cullum and Madeline Kahn, who plays Lily Garland!  What a co-inky-dink!  Get it?  Judy Garland playing Lily Mars...and I'm listening to Madeline play Lily Garland??  Isn't that funny?? ...... Isn't it? ......

...and then I stepped on the ball!

BOLLYBROOK - that's the title of the Bollywood musical based on QUIET MAN
I was going to suggest "Bridey & Breadinyourdish". The Murphey children at last get fed during the famine.

(No!  I"ve not checked the spelling!)

After work, a couple of friends bent my arm to go bend elbows and lift some pints at a noisy crowded tavern.  i had a fun time but now I feel all Irished out.  Just as well--I checked over my DVD library and suddenly remembered that my copy of THE QUIET MAN is at the House of Mom.  I guess I could watch THE VALLEY OF DECISION in which I believe Miss Greer Garson has her Irish up.
