The strangest brit com I saw years ago was Allo Allo... It was a comedy set in World War 2 France and this farm family took in these two British pilots. It was a riot...

The French have been good to america through its history.... Lafayette was an ally to Washington!!

In honor of our milestone of 190,000 plus posts today I hereby announce that Anthony will be gone for part of the summer. He's going back to Mill Mountain Theatre in Roanoke, VA to play Maurice (Belle's father) in Beauty and the Beast. He's not wild about the fact that he's playing a father (at his young age). He thought he would be cast as Cogsworth or Lumiere but a part's a part as they say. It's six weeks of work in an otherwise desolate landscape. He will be gone from May 23rd to July 2nd. I will just have to depend on the kindness of New York HHWs to keep me company. I've already had kind offers from Rodzinkski and TPunk.

That's the news from a windy and rather cool Chelsea. It's hard to believe that Monday will be the first day of Spring.

We're having Tuna Glop for dinner tonight, BTW.

You never have to ask me either!

Hmmmm

The most interesting dinner party I have been two was a medeival one that a friend of mine put on and we had to go in costume. It was a blast!  It was a small gathering and we had a 5 course meal.

I knew that he would get the role!  Is the age thing really that bad?  After all, it is well known that Belle was conceived as the result of a teenage indiscretion between Maurice and Sleeping Beauty.  And since she is only 18, that would put Maurice only at about 34 or 35.

Good afternoon!

Continued being a beautiful, cool day outside. No rain anywhere even though some forecasts said there was a slight chance of showers. Not a cloud in the sky right now.

Antonia, Anthony will kiss you when he reads this. I think you are now his favorite person.

I look forward to a summer with my HHW pals  ;D

This afternoon I took out the EASTER PARADE DVD and watched the documentary on the making of the film on the second disc.

Then I watched the Judy Garland Emmy winning documentary BY MYSELF which is also on the disc. One of the very best specials ever devised about the Garland legend and legacy.

190,000 postings!  We have achieved our new plateau.  Congratulations to one and all and also all and one.  Onward to our incredibly major next plateau of 200,000 postings!

The read-through of the musical with writing partner David was very interesting.  Much of it works really well and is really funny.  Other bits we'll have to keep our eye on to see how they play with the actors and audience.  Other things were so downright horrid that they boggled the mind, one long scene in particular.  We'll be fixing those.

Gee, theater people can be so vain!! :o ;)

No! It's just that Anthony's personality matches Maurice's; sweet, nice, attentive and a little goofy!

(And I don't even know Anthony!! ;D 8) )

Actually, Maurice had an "indiscretion" with the Evil Queen but that's another story!
Yes, it's true; I read it in the national Enquirer as well as in US Magazine! :D
