I seem to remember a line from a play or musical--"He's been strung up on his own petard!"  What's that from?

Actually, it's from HAMLET:
There's letters seal'd: and my two schoolfellows,
Whom I will trust as I will adders fang'd,
They bear the mandate; they must sweep my way
And marshal me to knavery. Let it work;
For 'tis the sport to have the engineer
Hoist with his own petar: and 't shall go hard
But I will delve one yard below their mines
And blow them at the moon: O, 'tis most sweet,
When in one line two crafts directly meet.

You're lucky, DR TCB - I saw my cabin on the maiden voyage of the TITANIC when they sent the robot down in 1997.

Glad the tapings went well, MR BK.  And I am sure the play will be great....any idea of the box office numbers yet?

I seem to remember a line from a play or musical--"He's been strung up on his own petard!"  What's that from?

As I posted earlier...

"If it wasn’t for its appearance in Shakespeare’s Hamlet: “For ‘tis the sport to have the enginer / Hoist with his owne petar” and its fossil survival in the rather more modern spelling to be hoist with one’s own petard, this term of warfare would have gone the way of the halberd, brattice and culverin."

... and as DR elmore confirmed

that was from Hamlet!

I am not that smart to have known the answer!
 :( ;)

Don't mind me... I'm just passing through! :)

We should, at the least, be on page 4.

How about a game of trivial pursuit??

On Sunday, Rodzinski and I are attending a wedding brunch/shower type deal for some friends of ours who will be getting married on the beach in Jamaica next month.  (Sadly we will not be in attendence)  I am helping to organize this with a friend.

Does anyone have any kicky wedding shower game ideas?  We are looking to do something fun and non-traditional.  Maybe something that would involve the bride and/or groom taking shots.  We are NOT going to construct a bridal gown out of toilet paper or make people guess the number of safety pins in a jar.

We thought about maybe doing a variation on the newlywed game where they have to guess eachother's response.  I thought in this creative bunch, folks might have some other fun ideas.

A scavenger hunt?

I am happy to report that I found Mrs. Beasley tonight. I was beginning to think she was lost but, of course, she was in the last box she could possibly have been in. She is now out of that box and in the house where she belongs.  I thought the cats may be interested in her, but they could care a less

I shall now be off to write a Sentencing Memorandum and a Motion for Downward Variance from the Guideline Range.  Such excitement. It's a copyright infringement case and the defendant was an eBay seller, so it is actually quite interesting.

My mother found a photo the other day and informed me that I got her for Christmas in 1967 (I was 6). I do remember that she was with me through a big tornado in 1968. I carried her around for a long time. I'm glad I found her.  ;D
