Just got this notice for those who expressed interest a few weeks ago:

On Saturday, May 6th, 5.00pm ET on Animal Planet watch the Twentieth Anniversary Genesis Awards TV Special, produced by the Hollywood Office of The Humane Society of the United States. The Genesis Awards honors the news and entertainment media for raising awareness of animal issues and will provide some great examples of “animal content in entertainment.”

I've been given conflicting stories on when it's on PT. I've been told both 2 (which is what it says on the TV Menu and the TV Guide -- and makes sense in terms of ET) -- but have also been told 5. Have no idea which is correct.

Tivo says 5:00 PM also, but it might be a live presentation so 2:00 PM on the west coast.

Thanks for all of the great birthday wishes!!  You are all the best!

Sadly, I'm still feeling a bit nauseous. :P Here at work, a bunch of us are going out to lunch to celebrate and I'm going, but I may just have to sit there and stare at all the food.  I will try maybe a taco salad and see what happens.  I don't think anything will happen, it just feels like it might...I hate that.

I can't overstate (or, frankly, mention enough) the positive effect of a product being associated in some way with the Bruce Kimmel name in theater circles.  It happened again the other night, after The Gig, that I was telling a theater notable that the CD of Last Starfighter was out on the market, and got a blase reaction (like everybody's got a CD) until I mentioned that it was on Bruce Kimmel's new label, and there was a clear increase in interest in what I was talking about.

Miss Jessica Rush has just left, and I'm on the phone with the post production place seeing if my DVDs are ready.

For those who watch it, tonight is the second part of last week's GHOST WHISPERER. And i think it's the season finale.  Last week was very chilling, so I can't wait to see tonight's show.

Really ran the gamut of sensibilities in this afternoon's video offerings. I started with last night's MY NAME IS EARL. Funny story of Earl making amends for having shot a girl in the butt with a BB gun. Very enjoyable.

Next came last night's CSI. It was a less than thrilling case of a man murdered while enjoying a fantasy vacation gift from his movie-producer employer. This one case did manage to involve the entire team, something that rarely happens on CSI any more.

Next, I watched the Billie Jean King documentary from HBO. I grew up during Billie Jean King's triumphant march through women's tennis, so much of this was very nostalgic to me. I liked the documentary very much.

Finally, I ended my afternoon viewing with TRAINING DAY. I picked this off my to-watch shelf even though it's been sitting there for a couple of years. I read recently that this is one of the films coming out soon on HD-DVD, and like THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, I wanted to see how the image quality looked in standard defintion. Marvelous, quite frankly, but this gritty, kinetic tour through the first day of a rookie's indoctrination into street life on the LA narcotics squad is all over the emotional map.

Well, you've read the notes, you are now in a Mexican Mood, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently south of the border down Meheeco way.

I am always in a Mexican Mood- it's in my blood!

Hope you feel better DR George!

Thanks!  And thanks to everyone else, as always! :-*

Lunch actually went well.  I ordered two enchiladas with rice and beans.  I ate the beans and a little rice and one of the enchiladas.  I found that as I was eating, everything was okay, but a little while after I stopped, the nausea returned.  I guess I'm just going to have to ride it out and hope that it ends...AND SOON!  But at least eating doesn't seem to be a problem. ;)

No, no cake.  Actually, there was no dessert at the restaurant at all!  And no photograph of me wearing a sombrero!  I got jipped!

But my mom made Chocolate Lush for tonight.  I don't know if I'll eat anything, I'm still quite full from what I had for lunch, but the Chocolate Lush will NOT be passed up!

I'm not going to say anything that can be construed as non-PC when my only intent would be to make you smile...

Happy Birthday George. I'm having a nice time in Philadelphia, the weather is great. I'm afraid I've been on my feet way too much, however. I'm right back where I was pain wise....boo.. but I've seen most of the touristy things I wanted to see, so I guess I'll just have to sit back and have a drink!

Well, it seems as if our phone problem is fixed. While we still have dial-up we no longer have terrible static which made it hard to hear anyone calling and made it difficult to connect on-line or stay on-line when connected. Verizon did a good job! I commend Clive and his co-worker

Off to do that Friday kitchen mopping chore that I always dread to be followed by the conclusion of TRAINING DAY and then more than likely THE ROMAN SPRING OF MRS. STONE.

That's what's so puzzling, DTM. It's NOT live, unless I'm in a time warp (possible!) - because I was there when it was happening - and that was weeks ago. This is the edited version of the live event.

Hopefully he will have the DVD to view and when they do Kevin's show, the problems can be addressed quickly due to lessons learned from the first foray.
