That is a nice story about Robert Redford, he obviously has a sentimental side. I like that in a person and it is cool that he has such fond memories of his childhood treasures.

You know, while I like Redford and have enjoyed many of his films, I gotta tell you he just has never really kicked me in the butt.  THE STING, I guess.  I like him very much as a director...particularly ORDINARY PEOPLE and QUIZ SHOW.

DR MBarnum --

Thanks for the answer to the photo question....it's a great picture.  When I saw it, I thought you looked like the younger, better-looking brother of actor David Wayne....to me there is a fairly strong resemblance.

And by the way, who is the lady in the framed picture?

(God, I'm nosy today!)

MusicGuy: Spade Cooley I remember - he used to broadcast live from what is now the Music Hall theater on Wilshire Blvd.  You'll be happy to know that Dick Lane has quite a nice featured role in Kritzer Time.

Dear esteemed BK --

Kerry was wondering.....did you already know that you and Rick Mason shared the same birthday??  I sure wish he could have shared some cake with you yesterday.

Now as far as your dinner last night.... it would have been even more terrific if we could just figure out a way to get the old original C.C. Brown's to open back up again.  :-[

The SS Ocean Queen was actually the SS President Wilson of the United States Line....NOT the SS Constitution of the American Export Line which was used on I Love Lucy - for some reason, I thought it was.

SATELLITE is a good choice....I am much happier with it than I ever was with CABLE.

DRMATTH and other DR's I love STRICTLY BALLROOM - has some problems, but most of all I love it because the actors all do their own dancing....and it is just so damned clever.

AND remember there are NO new Federation Steps....

Dear BK,

I, for one, can't wait for Kritzer Time to be released.  Do you have any idea when the nickname "leatherbritches" started for Dick Lane??  I remember that he also announced the early TV wrestling show that was broadcast from an old auditorium that is still in downtown L.A..

Apologies to bk for saying no one had mentioned BAREFOOT IN THE PARK (pre DR Ron Pulliam). I skimmed the notes too quickly. I await suitable punishment.

Charles Pogue - I agree with everything you say. BTW - I've been waiting over a month for notes on my last project. Which, of course, I rushed like a woman possessed to finish on time while getting ready to move.

MusicGuy, the woman in the frame in my photo is actress Anne Kimbell. She starred in MONSTER FROM THE OCEAN FLOOR, FUEDIN' FOOLS, and WAGONS WEST...she also worked on Broadway a bit in the 1950s. A very good actress and best friends with actress Sally (War of the Colossal Beast) Fraser!

Dear Jack,

I think that The President Wilson and the United States Line is the company that (at least in later years) just went around the Hawaiian Islands with tourist cruises.

I was on them several times, but by then the ships had gotten pretty run down and crummy.

It would have been more fun if Nugie and Cedric would have come around the corner!!

Strictly Ballroom: The retiring dancer (leaving to devote his time to Landscape Gardening) is Todd McKeanny who was the original star of "The Boy From Oz". Mecurio's father in the movie is Miranda LOTR Otto's father. The late Barry Otto. Tara Morice has had more success in Australia since the movie than has Mecurio.

Well, dear readers, while I don't have the dreaded flu as DR JRand seems to have (a speedy recovery wish for you, sir!), I do have a nasty little head cold.  This is evidenced by the fact that I currently bear a striking vocal resemblance to Harvey Fierstein, with perhaps a touch of Bea Arthur thrown in for good measure.  Never a good sign when I can hit an A-flat an octave below bass clef.  I've been a bit stuffed up the last couple days, but it has now moved down to my throat.  Oh well, just so long as it's outta here by my next show Friday night.

Robert Redford - All the President's Men and The Sting.  Actually haven't seen Barefoot... should probably rectify that.

Good wishes to all those suffering from the flu. Please don't feel that you need to export it to the southern colonies.

Craig: I tried to listen from the work computer and couldn't.  Remind me tonight and I'll do it from home.

MusicGuy: Dick Lane and wrestling (from the Olympic Auditorium) loom large in Kritzer Time.  Dunno about leatherbritches.  Didn't know Cameron shared my b-day.

Just finished a delightful lunch -- penne pasta with chicken in a cajun sauce with two slices of garlic bread.  It came with Navy bean soup!  YUMMY!

We're about to eat - of course, we'll be working whilst we eat and whistling whilst we work and we'll be doing the Texas Two-Step and the Miami Three-Step and the Boston Beguine.

And that's all she wrote for now.

Oh and for DR MattH: After our conversations about Alias yesterday I went in search of some websites. There is an interesting message board at http://www.alias-tv.com for fellow addicts. Btw, there is no new episode till jan 11th. I wonder if they will reshow this week's show the week before that.

DR Jennifer..

Check out yesterday's notes to listen :)

We had a fun lunch today. We were talking about a place called TWO BOOTS PIZZA which is a decent distance away. We got a craving..so we sent one of the staff to go get 3 pizzas from there.  Excellent pizza for those in NYC!
