We're having a family outing today:  my father, my two brothers,  two sisters-in-law, one nephew, one in-law and her adorable 8-month baby.  This, I fear, may be one of the last holidays we will all be together, so it's a very important fourth for me.

Jeanne as in Jeannie.  Jeanne (cross polinated with dear reader Jane) makes an appearance in Kritzer Time, towards the end of the book.  I've known her since I was fourteen and she was thirteen.

I'm thinking I'll take a little dip in the pool.  Just who the dip is I don't know right now, so I'll have to go find a dip.

Glad everyone liked the L/H dance....I was surfing along and it popped up, and I couldn't resist it.

That's a line from DEATH BY CHOCOLATE.

Where's the board of directors?

They're taking a dip in the pool.

Where's Margaret Daniels?

She's the dip they're taking in the pool.  :P

I also will bring the CD that I made from the soundtrack of the complete laserdisc.  I think I did a pretty good job with that one. ;D

You sure did! The copy you made for me is one of my most prized possessions! As I've said before, I MUCH prefer it to the original Broadway cast recording.

Sounds like the all-purpose joke [you can use any name of a show and a person associated with it that you think is a bit eccentric]:

Question:  What's the nut for the Forum tour?

Those earlier versions of THE WIZARD OF OZ are available on the complete 3-disc WIZARD OF OZ DVD special edition set that was released last year. Oliver Hardy looks weird as the Tin Man in the 1925 version.

Going to see a show tonight where they simulate the Beatles, featuring actual former members of Beatlemania.  Reminds me of that old joke "It's not Beatlemania, but an incredible simulation."

I started this afternoon with TOM THUMB, the delightful and underrated fantasy produced and directed by George Pal. And I think the use of the Puppetoons was the best ever done in this film. It was Russ Tamblyn's first true starring role, and he should have had a bigger star career. He's very impressive in this movie.

Next, I watched LISTEN DARLING, the movie Judy Garland made right before starting THE WIZARD OF OZ. Lots of familiar names in the cast: Mary Astor, Walter Pidgeon, Freddie Bartholomew, Scotty Beckett, Alan Hale, and even though Judy has top billing and sings three songs in the picture, it's not really just her show. The spotlight shines pretty equally on all four of the leads.

Then, I watched last night's MEDIUM. It was not the 3-D episode but rather the one with David Caradine as the guest star. I didn't remember much about the episode, so I enjoyed seeing it again.

I forgot completely about LOVESPRING INTERNATIONAL last night, but luckily a rerun is coming on tonight, and I've set the DVR now to record all new episodes and reruns so I won't have to remember to program it manually from now on. Because it comes on at 11 p.m. normally, I just forget about it most Mondays.

But oz never did give nothing to the tin man
That he didnt, didnt already have
And cause never was the reason for the evening
Or the tropic of sir galahad.

So, I still have THE 5,000 FINGERS OF DR. T to watch tonight and then I believe it will be a POIROT mystery though I'm not sure which one yet.

Exteemed BK, please do not take dips into the pool.  They disolve, and gunk up the filter.  Very unseemly.

There was one, I repeat, one copy of Doctor Who available here in Rehoboth Beach.  Unfortunately, it is for sale at a place that is not known for discount selling, and was priced at ten dollars more than we can get it online.

I'll just have to wait, I guess.   :'(

Happy 4th!!!   I normally spend the 4th with family at the lake. Which can be wonderful and a pain in the butt all at the same time.  But this year, I'm staying home working on cat independence day.   Today was a banner day.  Bootsie saw the rest of the house and for about 45 minutes to an hour, there were 2 cats roaming free.  Then Bootsie jumped on Nilla's chair and Callie got VERY upset.  I decided to end it before it got ugly. Only a few hisses and only one "In your face" confrontation, but no scratching and no biting so I am most pleased.

No matter what either one of the kitties do, Cillaliz, I don't think you should resort to scratching or biting them.

Oh all right.   We tried it again this afternoon. Bootsie did great for about 10 minutes then took off after Callie.  So, I put her back. They're getting better and I realize at some point they'll have to have the opportunity to wrestle around and figure it out. But, I'm not going to push it
