I wish someone had thought to ask Miss Ball about it before she died. But then, I'm not sure it was common knowledge back then that Lucy had Frank's blessing for Mrs. Isler. Angela claimed that she hadn't heard it at the time, so I wonder if Lucy did or if this was just behind-the-scenes talk.

I recall something about Lucy being certain that "Mame" was a ticket to an Oscar...or even an Oscar nomination.

Of course, she never counted on being totally wrong and too old.

TCB -  I was planning on shifting my travel plans to Friday, but now there's a real possibility that i may not make the trip, since a very good friend is in the hospital and for that reason I don't want to be all the way on the opposite end of the country this weekend.  (For reasons that are very hopeful, since he's improving at last report.)   From an artistic perspective re the show, I know that Skip is there to give an objective report back on how the changes and new material went over, so on balance, I'd be more useful in NYC this particular weekend.

Mr Chandler was also in the KING KONG remake, I believe.

Well, I forgive him for that...he needed the paycheck.

Who is Kyle Chandler? Was he the actor who was on Early Edition and guest starred as the bomb squad guy?  If so I vote for him.

He is indeed, one in the same.  He will also be the star of the new Fall series, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS.

If the title seems familiar, it should; it was also the name of a recent movie.

I've never heard of it. ::)

Is the series based on the movie or do they just (coincidentally) have the same title?

SWW the dog was wearing sunglasses over his natural black mask.  It was too cute.  Even with my lousy eyesight I spotted him from across the street.

On our trip we discovered most places in Washington don’t charge sales tax if you show them your Oregon license. :D

A couple of friends of mine have worked in retail and they told me that.  Also, I know several people who regularly make the trek down to Portland from here to make large item purchases so that they don't have to pay sales tax, either!

Good Evening!

Well, I cleared my desk... more or less...  But I have yet to start packing... more or less...

The more I think about it, the more the idea of taking Amtrak down in the morning sounds like a good, a better idea than driving down.  However, I was hoping to swing down to Richmond for the day on Saturday... And then train back up to NYC Sunday night since I have the final bit of Finding Nemo casting to play for... And then train back down to DC Tuesday night in order to be at Cabaret rehearsal Wednesday morning.

I'm tired just thinking of it!  Whew!

I'll see what kind of progress I make over the next couple of hours.  If I do decide to train down, then that would mean I would have to garage my car someplace for the next couple of days, otherwise it might get towed tomorrow or Friday... Hmm... Decision, decisions....

Of course, with "So You Think You Can Dance"? and "Project Runway" to watch tonight... Hmm...

-I hadn't planned on taking much down this trip, just some of the "bulkier" items that would be impossible to take on the train.  (i.e. - my Kitchen Aid stuff).  ;)  When I train back up on Sunday, I'll bring back a large suitcase with me, and then take my clothes back with me on Tuesday night.

Sounds like a plan.

Right?

Here's a funny one for you. They were in the window and started fighting. I got up and came toward them. Boo ran Callie chased and then it got really quiet.  I looked around and finally looked under the couch and there they were side by side hiding from me!

Jose please send some of your excess energy my way.  Thanks to a back pain I was so restless last night it was easier to change the sheets this morning than to make the bed.

Last night the breeder of our, soon to be, new puppy called so we could listen to the pups nursing.  They sounded sooooo sweet.  Tonight she sent a photo of their paw prints.  This woman is great and sends loads of baby pics.

I refuse to name names!  I am willing to sell you the names, however.

FJL, I am so sorry to hear about your friend's hospitalization.  However, I am happy to hear that their condition is improving.  I am sure that there will be a lot of diappointed people in Issaquah, when they learn of your absence.

The problem with being a one-person frenzy is that you start to feel rather schizophrenic.
