Good heavens, François!  After reading Pages Four and Five, I feel like I have been mugged by Dan Dailey and Doris Day!

It could be WORSE!

Could be Justin and Britney!

Careful; Doris could still "mug" you, you know!
She loves... dogs! ;) ;D

I had two video experiences tonight.

First up was SPY GAME, the thriller starring Robert Redford and Brad Pitt. I had watched it a couple of times but long enough ago that I had forgotten just about everything about it.

I don't think some parts of the plot work as well as others. (It's one of those stories where we have a plot happening in real time while he get numerous flashbacks throughout to key us in on people and relationships which led to the central plot.)

The transfer is fine and the DTS sound is stupendous. I opened up the back surround channel so that when helicopters and other surround sounds were present, the sound field really was 360 degrees. (SOmetimes it works well to engage the EX or ES decoding on the receiver for otherwise 5.1 soundtracks. Other times, the back surrounds collapse into the center back channel and you have nothing in the left or right rear channels. And I'm sure someone will find some way to make somethig sexual out of that little bit of technospeak.)

At any rate, it was a pleasant way to spend the majority of the evening.

Next came the gay-themed 24 NIGHTS. Not as slick as some of the gay movies I've watched lately (ADAM & STEVE; THIRD MAN OUT), but there were certainly good actors in it: Aida Turturro, David Burtka, Mary-Louise Wilson. And the story was a mildly pleasing romanctic comedy. There were some really funny bits throughout. I liked BIG EDEN, I THINK I DO, THE BROKEN HEARTS CLUB, and ALL OVER THE GUY more. All of those films have better production values and are more polished films.

Tomorrow I plan to watch SHANGHAI EXPRESS. Not sure about what else I have on the movie agenda. I didn't get anything in the mail today, so whatever I watch will come from "the stacks."

This morning I went for a walk, and this is what I saw:

DearReaderLaura, you ought to put this butterfly photo in a contest! Wowee, that really is a beautiful shot.

Back from the Festival Japan. Taylor and I had a wonderful time...I think Hello Kitty had to take a restraining order out on Taylor...she would not leave that creature alone...every time we'd be someplace on the festival grounds Taylor would be watching for this hulking thing with a big white cat's head...and as soon as she would spot it she would want to run over and wave and say hello, and perhaps get a hug. This must have happened about ten times or so. LOL!

Tried...which implies that you weren't actually able to control yourself! ;)

Well, I'm going to do something that, for the last two weeks I've been saying I would do...and that's watch "Adam & Steve."  I have the time and there's nothing on TV that I want to watch (actually, I haven't checked and I'm not going to). ;D

BK, speaking of pie, The Lovely Wife and I went to a local ice cream place here the other night called Bruster's (they may be a chain) and I had an flavour called Coconut Cream Pie.  If this had had a little whipped cream on it, it would have come damned close to tasting like House of Pies famous coconut cream pie.  As it was, the ice cream tasted delicious!

I ended up not with pie, but with a Tripple Mousse from Gelson's - white chocolate, medium chocolate, and dark chocolate.  An amusing little trife.  I also bought some other little tiny bite-sized cakes, but sanity prevailed and I only took one little bite of each and tossed them.

And now I have a craving for salami - good old fashioned salami.  I wonder if I'm pregnant.
