Another ask BK Question

Have you consider doing a page at MySpace.com to tell the world about the Brain From Planet X?

Next came LAW & ORDER: CI. Liza Minnelli gave a touching and subdued performance as the mother of a slain child actress (based on you-knpw-who). Matt McGrath also gave a memorable performance in this episode.

I am not sure I have ever seen the words subdued and Liza Minnelli in the same sentence.

I will be glad when this stupid election is over. I am tired of them calling on the phone and disturbing my peace. Grrrr. It happens eight or so times every day.

BK - Did you meet Glenn Slater last night?

I've often felt that the revue he wrote with Stephen Weiner called NEWYORKERS (it was at Manhattan Theatre Club in 2001 right after TIME AND AGAIN, and even IIRC used TIME AND AGAIN's basic set) would make a lovely and even economical CD, and it's only 6 actors.  I'm surprised it was never recorded.

They were interested in me recording NewYorkers, so I saw it, but didn't care for it too much.

Shayne, I don't know enough about myspace to do it - now, if some enterprising hainsie/kimlet wanted to try...

Jrand, I prefer Miss Mansfield.

Back from a fun rehearsal - did the two major act one Kevin/Lauren scenes and songs - grand fun.

RE: tonight's LOST.

spoilers.

I must say that i was disappointed in tonight's show. It was predictable and not very exciting.

I did not enjoy eko's backstory.

Although there were two scenes i did like. One was with ben and jack. But my favorite was with juliette and jack. That one was really great.

I don't get why they thought we would care about who died. He was not one of the more popular characters. He was hardly even on.  Add to this the fact that it was his backstory tonight, and that he is scheduled for numerous talkshows tomorrow, and i think the death was not exciting or interesting.  WE have seen some great death scenes in the past (shannon for one). But this was just boring to me.

Just finished interviewing a very lovely and hilarious gal by the name of Diane Jergerns....she was a cute, blonde teen actress in the 50s who made films like TEENAGE REBEL, SING BOY SING, and ISLAND OF THE LOST WOMEN...she was at one time married to actor Peter Brown and now is married to singer Randy Sparks (for over 40 years).

I never laughed so much during an interview...she had some great stories and I don't think we only hit the tip of the iceburg!

For those of you with actual taste in films...she was also in DESK SET and THE FBI STORY.

DR MattH, re: veronica mars.  I"m not sure if her cases are easier this year.  But i am very intrigued by the rape case. The revelation at the end of the show was quite interesting.  And i'm not sure what to make of wallace. I somehow wonder if the teacher caught on. I wonder if wallace even copied all the answers. That doesn't seem like him.

Oh and re: show discussions. I did not watch BOSTON LEGAL yet. When you recap could you try not to put major plot spoilers in the first line before you even name the show. Thanks.

Good Evening dear Esteemed and ever-so-sultry BK --

and good evening to all the lovely H/Ks in and out of the Living Room this evening.  I'm just popping in for a brief moment, so as to not be totally E&T.  But my intense 9 day work project has started here in Phoenix, and so the days are about 9 to 10 hours straight through for me.

So I can't pop in too often, but try to scan and read a little in the evening before falling over.

Please hold very good health vibes and thoughts for DP Kerry's mother.  She is having a few challenges at the moment.

I think "finser" will remain one of my favorite BK words...... it has a pathos to it, when one needs some sympathy.

And just for my two cents;  I also wonder just when it was that an "S" became an "SH" to Liza ??

It doesn't mean that I don't have a lot of admiration for her immense talent, and her determination through a lot of crap in her life.

Is the Kevin that is going to be in BRAIN - the Kevin Spirtas?

Yes, that Kevin.

I meant MBarnum but typed JRand.  You'd think doing a show about a Brain would have some effect.

I see that Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillppe are splitting. I think some people here on HHW will be glad to see that Ryan is available again.

He's not available according to gossip I've read the last couple of days. He had an affair with an actress in an indie film he made, and Reese discovered e-mails sent back and forth between them after the shooting wrapped.

Enjoyed another CSI:NY episode from the second season set. This one involved a shoting death in an elevator with a very odd type of pistol that the CSIs couldn't readily identify.

Did you see the show in question? She was subdued. Very much so. And very effective.

BTW, wasn't her daughter in the show 12 in 1992? Liza's character could certainly have had a 12 year old in 1992.

Thank you for the good vibes.  I just got home from visiting my mother in the hospital, and she's doing well.  I'm glad she's there right now where she can be monitored.

Bruce,

Please let me know when your Frontiers article is published.  Maybe I can read it online (i hope, I hope)

I watched a MURDER SHE WROTE rerun tonight for the first time in ages. This was the one with Jackie Cooper working for a carnival where a murder occurred. Florence Henderson, Alex Cord, and Yvonne DeCarlo were among the other guest stars.

BONES had a pretty neat mystery involving the body of a 10 year old beauty pageant contestant. Some romantic encounters happening within the regulars, too, but that's been building for some time so it wasn't a surprise.

I liked (but didn't love) the LOST episode tonight. I did find Eko's story interesting both in the present and his backstory. The more than fleeting glimpse of the smoke monster pretty much gave the show away. Of course, mysteries still remain about the "visions" as well as what's actually happening with Jack. I'm not sure I trust Juliette any more than I trust Ben.

I did finish watching LAW & ORDER SVU, also. Mariska Hargitay returned to the episode first doing an undercover investigation for the FBI and later leaving that job to investigate a sex crime case.

I'm not sure she's back for good, however. I think Connie Nielsen still has a couple or three more episodes to go as Meloni's partner.
