I watched an interesting documentary by a filmmaker I am not that familiar with, J. Carlos Peinado. The documentary was called Waterbuster and it is his journey to discover his Hidatsa-Mandan background and the ramifications of the Garrison Dam.

It was just a few years ago that the US government was FINALLY forced to pay MHA nation the money that was owed them due to building of the Garrison dam and the flooding of their land. THe Dam was built back in the 50s. THe promises of irrigation to the people in ND has been a bust also.. .Lot of partially dry canals to nowhere...

HEre is a link for the documentary
http://www.waterbuster.org/

Very well done and some interesting points... IRoncally, many are just discovering how much the Army Corps of Engineers has screwed people over. Grand Forks, ND knows from their own experiences with them in 1997.

It was premiered here in North DAkota but I do not know if it has broadcasted nationally yet. Very well done.

My autograph was from Fury.  He went to my camp, the trainer put a pen in his mouth & he signed his autograph.  Honest!

For you GG fans (that's Grey Gardens, not Grey Goose):

Grey never looked so good

According to a Broadway insider, above all other titles, musical theater star Christine Ebersole yearns to be labeled a gay icon. Evidenced by the reaction to her towering dual role performance in “Grey Gardens,” it’s clear that her wish has now come to fruition.

It sounds very interesting.  I just put in a request for the library where I work to purchase it.

QUESTION FOR THE DAY:

Dubai Tower
Quote
Tallest building in the world could reach over 2,500 feet the world's tallest building, the Dubai Tower or "Burj Dubai."

Every two weeks, two more stories are being added to the tower, which already stands at 79 stories, rising to 200 meters or 656 feet. The final height of the tower is being kept as a secret. The only information being released is that it will have more than 160 stories and rise over 700 meters (2,296 feet). There are speculations the tower will actually be around 800 meters tall. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2008 at the cost of $1 billion,

Do elevators that travel 160 floors sell upper/lower berth tickets?

I was all excited to race home after work yesterday so I could tell you my big news.  Unfortunately, when I saw the photo posted on the website, I wasn't quite as excited.  Still, the website below will take you to the article about our achievement.  The photo will give you a glorious photo of the top of my hair; however, there is a fairly good photo of my sister (second from the right in the front row).

If I know my Wolverines, they went into the game complacent about being #2 in the nation, playing a 3-7, non-conference dust mop.  Hel-lo!  They do know they play Ohio State in two weeks, right?

I cannot remembetr where i read this, but i believe fox told the show to rap up everything in the next 6 episodes (including last night). Not sure if that will be 13 episodes or much less.

Yes, Fox told the producers to wrap it up with the 13 th episode, but if the ratings were great last night (haven't looked yet, but I kind of doubt they were), I'm sure Fox would change its mind.

I watched anotherf CSI: NY episode as I cooked and ate lunch. It involved the death of a "doll doctor," a man who repaired dolls for children. I remembered seeing this episode from last season, but I didn't remember the outcome, and it was quite a surprise.

Then I put in the first RKO Tarzan movie from the new boxed set. TARZAN TRIUMPHS was very entertaining, and it really looked wonderful. Aside from an errant scratch and a few speckles, the movie's cinmatography looked velvety, much superior to the Astaire-Rogers movies I've been watching. Of course, they're 5-10 years older than these Tarzan movies. Still, I was really surprised how good this first Tarzan picture looked (and, of course, when the interpolated African jungle footage comes up, it looks terrible in comparison to the studio shot scenes.

Didn't quite get finished with the Tarzan picture, so I'll finish it, and then start CAREFREE.

The Tarzan movies take me right back to Sunday afternoons watching them on "Jungle Theater" on WSOC-TV.

But seriously, you should be very proud.

Uh-oh! I just looked at the ratings. VANISHED finished LAST in the timeslot, even beaten by WWE Wrestling on the CW. I have a feeling Fox will pull the show before it finshes the 13 episodes.
