There seems to be a lovely long haired lady in the center of the picture.

Looks like a baby Triffid to me!

So the bal nace is the miracle of the recurrence of Lucille Ball, namely Debra Messing.

I can only quote Aldolpho:  "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa??!!"  ;D

I will be thinking of you and holding good thoughts this coming Saturday, for a very successful book signing for you.

DR Rodzinski, you're right. The Tara was formerly owned by George Lefont. He still owns the Plaza, but my favorite theatres that he had are long gone. It's a shame, since they would both be so close to our new house.

The Silver Screen, a reperatory cinema, bit the dust when home video and movies of VHS made them obsolete. The Screening Room was a first run art film house managed by a dear friend.

When I was editing "Daughters of the Dust", I was right across the street from the Screening Room. Whenever LeFont wanted to screen a film, my friend would call me and I'd run over to sit in the booth with him and watch the film, because if George didn't choose to book it, it would very likely not see the light of a xenon bulb here in Atlanta. I saw a lot of great films that never made it here for one reason or another.

Damn the multiplexes!

Gah! I did it again. I'm registered to vote by mail, but I took so long making up my mind on some of the issues, I now have to take it down to the polling station anyway.   ::)
Don't forget to get your "I Voted!" sticker!!!

At the end of the program the conductor and pianist were both given generous applesauce.

Der Brucer is cursing at the television.

It seems that the major networks have decided to broadcast voting news instead of their regular programming.  "Where the h*!! is NCIS???" has just boomed from the living room.

No, wait, they just switched back to the fiction programming.  I expect there will be plenty of interruptions with "breaking news reports" through the evening.  If any of you out there hear more cursing, it's just der B, nothing to be alarmed about.

Have a good evening, all!

MusicGuy - Thanks.

APPLAUSE parodies are actually quite common on the internet.  There was a site where some of us were working up a parody of Eve Harrington's Halloween number, in honor of the new London production of Equus starring Daniel Radcliffe.

Remember that Halloween where you were nine
You wore a Phar Lap costume of your own design
Well, look at you know

And daddy said go wash your face, you look like a horse
That's what he said, of course

And now onstage my moon is ready to shine
remember that Halloween when I was nine

Well, damn you, JK Rowling, look at your litttle Harry now

It went on, and it was a group effort, but you get the idea.  :)

American Dad does a number on Log Cabin Republicans:

I'm Red and I'm Gay!

Really funny!

der Brucer
One thing I can't figure out...

How did we go from Red being synonymous with Commie/Ruskie to Red meaning Republican?

If you only vote for one or two Republicans, does this mean you're a Pinko?

I actually like this MUCH better than the actual APPLAUSE score. All of it.  From top to bottom and inside out.  8)
