I had such a lousy night of sleep last night that I'm heading down now to give it another try. Fingers crossed.

Good night!

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES ramped up the melodrama tonight as we found out interesting things about Orson's mother (the wonderful Dixie Carter) and Lynette found out something that seems hideously disturbing about the new neighbor.

And any time Richard Burgi returns to the show, even for one too brief scene, it's a cause of celebration for me.

I'm watching Thursday's "Ugly Betty" and it just happenes that it'll be done when "Desperate Housewifes" starts.  The scenes with Betty and her boyfriend at the restaurant (totaly fish out of water situation) are very funny!  ;D

Wasn't quite the "free" day I'd been wanting, but almost so.  Had to spend a bit of time dealing with a major screw up on the postcards and posters for The Brain - an actresses name is not correct - the gentleman who mocked it up misread an e-mail and mistakenly hyphenated her last name with her character's name.  She's very upset, so I've promised we'll fix it, even if I have to pay.  I've written an e-mail about it and left a phone message, but haven't had either returned.  I don't blame her for being upset - I sure would be, and if it were anyone else I'm sure they would be, too.  It wasn't purposeful, of course, and she totally knows that, but she's doing the show for free, putting in a lot of time and energy, and all she gets out of it is being seen and having her name wrong is, well, just wrong.  We'll fix it one way or another, and soon.

Cilla - Were you the one talking about STRIKING 12?  It's opened in NY and got a love letter from the NY Times.

What a long day...I decided to finish the project I started about 2 years ago, that is making a cookbook from my mother's recipe cards. Well, right now it's 300 + recipes and about 150 pages.  I'm only making 12 copies, but it's a lot of work. Much more than I thought it would be

Yes, it was in Fairmont, MN the Saturday before previews.  From what I've heard I'm not surprised it got good reviews. I think my parents got a CD for me. I'll find out when I get there for Thanksgiving

Happy to hear about Kachina..

I'd love to stay and chat, but I have to work in the morning and I am very tired. Who knew recipes could be so exhausting

DR SWW thanks for the DREAMSHIP precis.....I was hoping you guys would get to see it.

Subtitles and all.

I would complain a lot less if the subtitles were clearly presented ("clear" as in easy to read against the background). Actually listening to the dialog in German was part of the fun of the film - no one does a better job of putting down the Germans than the Germans :) The actors spoke German almost as well as Caesar (Sid, not Salad).

The postcard/poster situation brings back memories of when Georga Osborne (who plays both Elaine and the Manzar in Last Starfighter) was for a brief while incorrectly listed as Georgia Manzar.

I have...for the most part.  But saying the lines to myself, alone in a controlled environment is very different than trying to remember them during a rehearsal with all the blocking and interacting with other actors and EVERYONE LOOKING AT ME!

I still haven't emailed anyone about staying with them when I come to LA in December. I guess I should get on that.

Ack! My cousin's email is no longer in service, so it looks like I'll be asking my aunt.  I have a friend in the Valley, but his boyfriend is in the process of moving out & back to NC, so I don't know if I want to be around.

Alright, I emailed my aunt. It's pretty much certain she won't mind me staying. I also may convince her to come to the show to feel the warm thrill of confusion...that space cadet glow.

And on that note (A-flat), I'm doing the Wussburger.  I'm not feeling too well and I don't want to catch anything.  There are less than three weeks before Cannibal:  The Musical (where I play three small, but pivotal roles ;)) opens, and now is NOT the time for me to be getting sick!

At least, if I do get sick and have to take time off from work, I can use my almost six-month worth of accrued sick leave versus my less than two weeks of vacation. :D

Good night!
