TPunk and the rest of HHW: Thank you so very much for all your support. It means a lot to me and my family. This happened so suddenly that they are not going to have a funeral, just a graveside service, so I don't think my family will be able to go up for it.

My brother and I will go up to visit my cousin in VA when things settle down and see how we can help.

On the other hand, I sympathize with the employers and other employees left "holding the bag" when someone calls in sick.

Yes, it's hard enough doing your job during this season without having to do someone else's, too.  That often leads to resentment toward the absent employee.

And, yes, I agree that there are instances of goldbricking (i.e., calling in sick when you aren't sick at all).

But still...

I am fully planning on taking a "mental health" sick day sometime between now and Christmas.  The holiday season is also rough in my line of work. It's only 3 days after TG weekend and I'm already burnt out!  But I think a lot of folks at my office indulge in an occasional mental health day and I know that my kids will get a better therapist in me as a result.  Or at least that's my rationalization.  ;D

Sadly neither Michaels nor ACMoore allows you to purchase craft supplies online. You can view craft ideas or products available for purchase in the stores.

At the first firm I worked for out of law school in the mid-1980's, the Human Resources people spoke openly about people needing and taking mental health days from time to time.  It wasn't being encouraged but it was basically represented that they knew the need for them was there, the firm knows you're going to take them and be considerate to your co-workers about when you take them.

I've recently started watching Veronica Mars this season and thought last night's episode was awesome.

You might want to check out the first two seasons on DVD (especially season 1 which has delightful episode mysteries plus one long season long mystery to entertain you.)

I finished the CSI: MIAMI episode I had started late this afternoon. It had a sad story of a suspected rapist being let go and the CSIs trying to find the guilty party while lawsuits and accusations swirled around them.

SVU had the return of Mariska Hargitay to the series after her maternity leave and she came back amid a trio of guest stars: Chris Sarandon, Bob Saget, and Bernadette Peters. Nice mystery this week.

I loved BONES tonight. A kind of offshoot story to THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, it was creepy and genuinely shudder-inducing (as the best SUPERNATURAL episodes are).

spoiler

Alas, Brennan once again lost at a chance for love. The writers are cruel doing this to her both last season and now this season as well.

DAY BREAK fit together some more pieces of the puzzle as the day began to change in some not so subtle ways keeping the show from getting stale. Looks like as he does positive things for people during one of his "days," they seem taken care of the next time the day comes around. Interesting.

MEDIUM I enjoyed until the last five minutes or so. I didn't think the ending held up, but I love the character of evil Charles Walker and hope he does make a return appearance. It was great to get his backstory.

I didn't see tonight's episode but I'm still thinking about last week's episode.  It had to do with foster care and mentally ill children so of course it was right up my alley.  Very disturbing.  Also right up my alley.

Looks like the major reviews for the John Doyle COMPANY are money reviews.

Well, it is 11:42 p.m. Arizona time, and our board meeting just concluded a few minutes ago.

Back from rehearsal and food, must now write quick notes and try to catch up on my sleep as I'm very overtired.  Of course, I must do an errand in the morning, then do a casting session, then go to rehearsal.
