Well, you've read the notes, the notes have made you want to eat a Malomar, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently eating Malomars by the mooful.

I really enjoy a fresh salad, but sometimes the celerity gets stuck in my teeth.

"Ice Wars" was pretty much a bust for me, too, DR MattH, although I watched quite a bit of it.

Alexei Yagudin was fantastic in both skates.

Oksana Baiul was ridiculous beyond belief in both her skates, but at least didn't fall in the first one.  She looks horrible.  She looks to be over 40 and I don't believe she's had her 30th birthday yet.

I'm looking forward to a decent night's sleep.

There are so many things I want to do this weekend, and I know I can get some of it done if I'm well-rested and out of bed early enough tomorrow (later this morning, that is).

California professionals dine out of Dumpsters

Quote
PALO ALTO, Calif. - Cynthia Powell and Stephen Vajda are unabashed Dumpster divers who get much of their weekly food from garbage cans.

The two educated Berkeley, Calif., professionals - who are not hungry or otherwise in need - say they are motivated by a growing conservation movement with a mantra that wasting resources, especially food, is shameful.

Powell and Vajda estimate they can save up to $100 a week by dining on day-old bread, vegetables and sometimes chocolate from commercial garbage cans.
The two estimated they know at least a half dozen like-minded people in Berkeley who regularly dine out - way out.

"I'm not hungry," said Powell. "I do it because it's good food, it's free and it's conservation."

Powell said she's been getting in Berkeley Dumpsters at grocery stores and bakeries ever since she moved to town about four years ago. She draws the line at eating meat or dairy products.
...

Now you know why some stores/restaurants douse their garbage with bleach!

No don't let the schedule slide.

Wonderful news about the early arrival of Alice and Emily!!

Congrats to DR RLP on his Gold win....and to MBARNUM on his choice of opening night companions!  I hope the waiter where you dine realizes he is serving NOT only a puppet person but also the Queen of Outer Space!

Work today....more work.....retail....

Hmmmm TOD:

Ethel Merman - I really think she is funny in KID MILLIONS and THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS....but I have to choose CALL ME MADAM.  She is right on the money there - of course she played the role for a LONG time on the stage, so she had it down pat...but she is just very funny and very knowing about the whole....uh....affair.  And she and Donald O'Conner are always fun to watch.

Julie Andrews....THE SOUND OF MUSIC, no close second for me.

Judy Holliday....the first movie I ever saw her in, on TV late one Saturday night....BELLS ARE RINGING.

Casey would waltz
With a strawberry blonde -
A quick-step waltz
Demanding all the CELERITY they could muster.

I'm waiting for someone to manufacture organic malomars.  I've customers who would consider them to be the ultimate comfort food.

(And the way the government has defined "organic," such a thing is possible.   :P)
