I had "blackened" scallops for lunch today.

It was interesting.

Now...I cannot decide whether I'm going to eat dinner or not.

Oh, I forgot to state why -- it's because the scallops seem to still be sitting there...like so much fish...in my stomach.

I'd kill for some McDonald's fries from the time before they changed the oil they use!

And I wouldn't mind some Burger King onion rings.

But what I'd truly do almost anything for is a bag of White Castle hamburgers with their fries, their onion chips and one of their large chocolate milk shakes.

Hey, JRand56!

Is there still a White Castle along Pendleton Pike in Indianapolis (near Lawrence)?

I talk a good game of junk food, but the truth is I couldn't eat a bite.

In fact...those scallops seem to be moving just a tad(pole?).

Whew, am I beat...got into LAX at 11:30 am...got to my rental car place just fine, but the drive up La Brea to Hollywood took forever! But I did a lot of nice sightseeing during the drive...got mildly lost trying to find the part of Franklin Blvd I needed to be on and took short cut up Whiltley Dr, over to Whitley Terrace (where Ms. Peggy Webber happens to reside...wished I could have remembered her street number), turned my car around in an old folks home just in time to see a very elderly man trip over something on the sidewalk and bash his nose in. He was cut and bleeding and I jumped out of my car and assisted as best I could. Finally some people from the home came out and took  care of him and I drove on finally finding my hotel and checking in.

I just returned from walking over to Hamburger Hamlet where I had a not so great meatloaf sandwich...but the service was very good and I was eated by the window and could watch all of the bizarness that is Hollywood Blvd....you know some of those people who dress like various cartoon characters and hang around the front of the Grauman's Chinese don't smell so good after being dressed up in those costumes all day.

I shall now go and get showered and shaved and ready to head over to The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to see a screening of SANTA (1932), Mexico's first sound film. It's star Lupita Tovar (now age 96) will be there for a question and answer session. Wil her daughter Susan Kohner be there as well? I shall report my findings.

For anyone over 50:  When you are out in public, for whatever reason, always, always, ALWAYS return things (keys, credit cards, wallets, whatever) to wherever you normally keep them when walking around or shopping.

Especially at this time of year when places are crowded and clerks are rushed...it's easy to get a bit flustered and when you do, you are apt to put something down that you OUGHT TO HAVE put in your wallet, or put something in a pocket that you NEVER USE for anything.

Of course, what I'm getting at is that later on panic will ensue when you can't find your debit card or your key or whatever.

Sigh.

I learned long before I even turned 40 that I needed to do this!! ::)

Last night's "Medium":

SPOILER

I really, really, really enjoyed last night's episode.

I thought the use of the camera as a conduit between Allison and the actions of a previous owner was terrific!

As usual, the family dynamic was sensational, IMO.  Maria Lark, as Bridget, continues to amuse and amaze me for her natural and winning ways.  She's a cute chubbette!  Interesting to see they're now getting the third daughter into the group as an entity unto herself.

The hour this show airs just whizzes by for me.  I like it.

I really like it.

More spoilers...

I liked last night's episode too. And Bridget was at her cutest with the spoon dancing.  I LOVED the flashbacks of Alison's childhood in the beginning of the episode.  I've been waiting to see if there was going to be more of that.
