Well, you've read the notes, the notes were brainy, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently on Planet X supping on brains.

I made mistake.  yes, I did.

I notified both of the companies that have pending charges, and now the charges will not move from pending to posted on my account so they can be disputed and removed....

And the word of the day is: EUPHORIOUS!
Casey would have waltzed
With a strawberry blonde
But they instead were wishing the cast and crew of The Brain From Planet X a EUPHORIOUS opening night
And broken legs one and all.

Happy Birthday, esteemed BK!

Broken leg to you, too!  And a flashy chromed wheelchair, as well, for your opening night bows!

TOD -

We have oodles (that's several oods) of DVDs that have arrived, which der B and I are sorting through and enjoying.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (two disc set) is in the stack.

Lots of Doctor Who stories, ranging from The Tomb of the Cybermen with Patrick Troughton, Spearhead From Space and Inferno with Jon Pertwee, and The Hand of Fear and The Robots of Death with Tom Baker, then jumping to the later stories like The Mark of the Rani and The Two Doctors with Colin Baker (this also featuring Troughton) and The Curse of Fenric with Sylvester McCoy.  Lots of nifty bonus stuff, as well, some of it quite silly and other stuff very interesting.

Der Brucer, meanwhile, has a Brit comedy called To Die For sitting in his stack, barechested leading man on the cover.

And last night we watched The Internationale, a film by Peter Miller, edited by Amy Carey Linton.  A very interesting film about a song, it's history, and the people who have sung it.

Hopefully, der Brucer will post his thoughts about the film later.

Has the Playbill article about BRAIN FROM PLANET X already been linked here?

http://www.playbill.com/news/article/104072.html

In said article, our esteemed BK is quoted as saying:

Quote
"The Brain From Planet X is a sci-fi musical, one that has sport with all my favorite bad sci-fi films of the 50s, which include 'Invaders From Mars,' 'The Brain From Planet Arous,' 'Plan Nine From Outer Space,' and 'The Creeping Terror' (which features the first monster entirely made out of carpet), and so many other fine works of cinema. I grew up loving those movies, and I love them still, and now through the magic of musical comedy, I’m getting to relive them all. We have an actual singing Brain, we have two aliens named Zubrick and Yoni (Yoni being the man-hungry female, and Zubrick being the man-hungry male), we have an All-American Family, we have a General, we have an elderly Professor, we have 17 musical numbers and, best of all, the show is set in the San Fernando Valley in 1958."

It should be noted that there are parts of the San Fernando Valley that are still set in 1958!  What happens in the San Fernando Valley stays in the San Fernando Valley... and stays, and stays, and stays...

Friday morning greetings!  I popped in earlier with wishes for BK, but couldn't stick around for long.  Here I am at work in the downtown homeless shelter public library for a full day of information waitressing.  After today, though, I have the next five days off  ;D

Media check:  CD(car) - audiobook - Bill Bryson's The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid: A Memoir, read by the author.  Recommended to baby boomers.  Other CDs - Tony Bennett's Duets: An American Classic and BK's holiday albums A Broadway Christmas and A Hollywood Christmas

DVDs - The DaVinci Code, United 93

Bringing Toby and Dylan over to Dear Friend Maureen's apartment so that she can watch them over the weekend.

It's cold out there, though.
