Bruce,
I'm so pleased that Walter Willison is flying out. Do say hello from me. I remember him as a tall, lanky teenager with a wonderful voice. And a really nice person, too. Lulu and I were quite blown away.

Good morning dear Esteemed, creative, well-judging, and temerarious BK --

It has taken a few days to get settled back in to things here, to get caught up on some work, and to read through all of the great posts and pictures from the "Brain" weekend.

It was a real pleasure and an honor to greet some of the wonderful folks from this sight, and meet them in the flesh!  It was also very enjoyable to see some previous friends and acquaintances and meet some new cast members.

BK -  Looks like they delivered the packages to the mail drop-off down the block rather than directly to our apartment.   (It seems they do that routinely during the holiday season.)

Thanks a lot!

FJL - so it got there, right?  I have tracking numbers and all that jazz.

Apparently, the LA Times review of The Brain will be appearing tomorrow (it was supposed to appear yesterday, when it actually might have done us some good).  Considering I was expecting the worst, from what I gather from the little capsule review, the full review will be mixed to positive, so that's a plus.  He thinks rewrites are required if we're to move on with the show - I'm sure there will be rewrites if we move the show - it's what usually happens.  But, we did get a great pull quote even from the capsule review, which appeared today in the Calendar listings:

WILDLY FUNNY... WITTILY STAGED, SHARPLY CAST AND GRACED WITH SOME CATCHY NUMBERS.

Apparently MBarnum has "opted out" of receiving e-mails from Kritzerland or my general interest group at Constant Contact.  Seems rather peculiar to me, but there you are.

I suspect, however, that he might not know he opted out, so I'm just bringing it to his attention.

"Sharply Cast"

That sounds almost like an episode of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, doesn't it?

I just want to extend Joyous and blessed Hanukkah greetings to those of the Jewish faith. If I read right, it starts tomorrow at dusk.

Yes, to New Mexico, wasn't it?

I believe so... She was on late one evening and was discussing how her cat got caught in a bag and spooked by the dustbuster...

TOD:

I love the Chieftains and Ricki Lee Jones rendition of "O Holy Night".

I also enjoy:

Hall and Oates' version of "Jingle Bell Rock".
Brenda Lee's "Rockin' around the Christmas Tree"
Bing Crosby's "White Christmas"
The Chieftains/Renaissance Choir "Once in Royal David City" and "O Come All Ye Faithful"

I do recommend two CDs:

The Chieftains "The Bells of Dublin"
Paddy Moloney with the Chieftains and Marco Frisina and freinds recorded a lovely album called Silent Night: Christmas in Rome. It has a rousing rendition of "Joy to the World" and a lovely version of Silent Night in four languages: German, Italian, Gaelic, and English.

Back from an excruciatingly difficult jog - one of those awful jogs when it's like you've never jogged before.  I was ready to call it quits after the third block, but kept going.  At four other points during the jog I was ready to call it quits, but I finished, because I'm not a quitter.  Man!

BK - yes, they got here.  And as an added bonus, the afternoon package came at the same time as the morning package!  :)

I'm beginning to think UPS is the most reliable at holiday time.
