Perhaps I'll attempt a jog in a few minutes - get it out of the way early.  Then I suppose it will be time to chop garlic.

After I chop garlic (which takes forever since I use many cloves in my sauce), I shall chop onions and slice mushrooms.

After I chop garlic, chop onions, and slice mushrooms I shall deal with the other ingredients and then put them all in a big pot, at which point I will turn on the fire on the stove and begin cooking the sauce slowly or, to put it another way, I will start slowly cooking the sauce.

I see there are really lovely reports on the Skinner/Ripley CD on the castrecl emailing list.  Even from the very hard-to-please Mr. Darrell Karl.

And if I'm spelling Mr. Karl's name incorrectly, I stand corrected.

With all that talk about John Barrowman yesterday and the photos posted reminded me of the photo that I cannot post of him on this site. (This is a family site in more ways than one) Let's just say it involves a hamburger, hamburger buns and something else special that one normally would not find on top of a hamburger. and if you did  the restaurant would probably been shut down. Unless of course you washed it first.

My DH just phoned  to tell me that he's about to pick up my mother for our Christmas Eve fest.  My aunt is not coming, after all - don't ask.

Bye for now.

Michael S - I found the picture by googling "john barrowman" and hamburger, but are we taking it on faith that that's John Barrowman?  All I could find was a picture of the private part and surrounding hair on the burger, without any proof that Mr. Barrowman is attached.

Luncheon is over.

The fried chicken was  WON-der-ful.

We also had mashed taters, corn-and-tomato casseroile, field peas and rolls.

Dessert was a slice of sweet potato pie.  (And believe me, I had to choose that from a selection that included homemade pecan pie -- they toast the pecans here before using them in the pie - and rum cake).

Happy festive night to all!

I've started my night shift almost an hour ago and I'll be "celebrating" with myself for the next 12 hours until I go home and sleep! Could be worse!

I want to thank you all for bearing with my silly and dull posting (and NOT "barring"! That's for John B.!) on this site all through the year!
I'm just someone who tries to have fun and share the fun!

And a happy holiday to DR Cason and Everybody on this Wonderful Site!

I've finished listening to an excellent new recording of a replication of the original Dublin performance of the great and gay George Frideric Handel's MESSIAH.  The recording is by a new group from Scotland, the Dunedin Consort.  It's quite a wonderful, and non-tradiitonal, performance since there are so many MESSIAH variants one never hears because the standardized text omits them.

And now, errands.

DR MattH's comment about new DVDs reminded me that I hope to find waiting for me the new Disney "tins" and the "Best Foot Forward" and "Presenting Lily Mars," as well as the CDs I ordered of "Amahl and the Night Visitors."

Nothing like a prolonged "Christmas"!
