SHAKING IT UP

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were shaken, not stirred, and now it is time for you to post until the shaken cows come home.

I did finish connecting the dots and got to the end of chapter one.  I think it's smoother and better (the material from the old version), but I'll see how I feel when I look at it tomorrow.  But, I think I've now used just about the only part from the old material that's usable - maybe one other little thing - again, just the idea, not the actual writing.  But then, after that, it's all new.  I think it's working better, but I'll get the first thirty pages done and then show it to Margaret to see what she thinks.

I was never a fan of the Macarena (I always thought that it was kinda stupid) but that was just me. ::) If anyone here likes it, well, that's okay too!

And just a few years ago, wasn't there some new dance craze called the Ketchup...or something like that?

Never heard of a dance called the Ketchup.  I, of course, did the Hokey Pokey, and I certainly did the Twist and the Swim.

Today, I'm going to have lunch with a friend, Josh, who played one of the other "Indians" from Cannibal:  The Musical.  He wants to direct "Juno and the Paycock" and he's asked me to play the role of Joxer (the second male lead, I guess).  I said yes.  It was written and set in Dublin, Ireland in the 1920s.  I don't know if he wants to use accents or not, but I think I've listened to enough musicals with Irish accents that I could probably fake one. ;)

The Twist - which I thought was great, until I heard Arlene Francis and Bennett Cerf talk about trying it at the Peppermint Lounge one night on What's My Line....  All I could think of was why would those OLD people want to do the Twist?
