George, congratulations on being cast as Captain Boyle. I don't envy you the role. Boyle is an incredibly tough role for an actor, and the whole show is such a downer for the audience.

Der Brucer is snacking while watching television. He popped some brie in the nuker, for a quick warm-up, put slices of the brie on crackers, and now is topping the brie with spoonfulls of Robert Rothschild's Hot Pepper Raspberry Preserves. It's tasty, but not that spicy, not really. That's his opinion of the stuff (and I concur).

But somehow he wasn't that eager to try putting a little bit of Professor Phardtpounder's Colon Cleaner Hot Sauce. Shame, I find it a tasty blend of Scotch Bonnet peppers and mustard, mostly the former.

DR George, get the glorious cast album of JUNO by Mac Blitzstein and listen to it. I was lucky to see the Abbey Theatre do JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK. Such a beautiful play.

I actually ordered the CD from Foolight.com just a few days ago. I don't know how long it'll take to get it, though. I love Shirley Booth as well as Marc Blitzstein's The Cradle Will Rock.

Jack MacGowran, who played Joxer in JUNO, was the stepfather of my first New York apartment mate. If you have Dawn Upshaw's "I Wish It So" you already have a copy of the greatest song in the score.

Good Evening!

"Dreamgirls" actually stood up well to a second viewing. And the theatre was practically empty. In fact, when we took our seats, we were the first two people in there. A couple of rows in front of and behind us did fill up, but I'd have to say the Ziegfeld was maybe only about 10-15% full. A small, but appreciative audience.

I still got chills in some places, and Jennifer Hudson's performances elicited applause and a few cheers from those in attendance. It's a very good movie, not a great one. And I don't mind some of the plot tinkering they did from the original stage version. *Although, I do miss Deena's portion of "When I First Saw You." However, I have to say Jamie Foxx's performance underwhelmed me even more this time round. He just seemed to have that "smell the fart" look on his face throughout. I'm surprised he hasn't changed his name to "Jamie "Oscar Winner" Foxx".

In any case... It was good to see the movie again.

And, afterwards, we stopped into the lobby of Le Parker Meridien for burgers and fries at "The Burger Joint". Very good burgers, and such a neat, funky place. There is literally one area of the hotel lobby that was turned into a burger joint. And the sign for the place is not that visible from the lobby proper, so it's kind of hidden. -Which is a good thing, since the place can get quite crowded - it sits 40-45 max. But, again, it's a great place for a cooked-and-dressed-to-order burger. Good shakes too!

Then it was over to the new m&m's World at Times Square.

Three floors of m&m tchotchkes, memorabilia and, of course, m&m's (plain and peanut in 22 colors). It's a nice "companion" to the Hershey's Store two blocks away.

And unlike the Hershey's Store, there's actually room to move - although, once the heavy tourist season starts... And they have public bathrooms too just in case you might be "in need" in midtown - especially since the Charmin ones closed.

I have beer batter fried chicken for din-din. I shall consume it with some collard greens. YUM.

I feel WONderful...I was really tight and I got a goodly number of adjustments that have me just bouncing around.

It's gonna be COLD in the Bay Area tonight....brrrrrrrrrrrrr.

San Fran is actually gonna be in the low 40s. But inland areas will be in the 30s and high 20s.

I'm going to be nice and toasty, though. And if needs be, I still have some egg nog to help me get toast-ED!
