Earlier in the evening, I continued reading KATE and got through the triumph in ON GOLDEN POND and subsequent show/tour of WEST SIDE WALTZ.

Since the lady is so fascinating, I pulled out my Dick Cavett set with her two part interview on it and watched it for the rest of the evening. Got so into it that LAW & ORDER completely slipped my mind and I didn't record it. Oh, well, I'll have to try to catch a rerun.

I felt exactly the same way about Jamie Foxx. For me, he was distinctly mediocre, much apart from some of the amazing things other people in the cast were doing around him.

He should feel VERY lucky that RAY happened for him. I've never felt he was a particularly gifted actor.

<nod>

...And I sort of knew what to expect after his appearance on "Oprah".  He was just so "on" the whole time.  Very off-putting.

Beyoncé, however, did surprise me.  But it's just unfortunate that she will most likely get to sing on the Oscars rather than Jennifer Hudson.

I really love the cast recording of JUNO. I think you will love it, too, DR George, if you've never heard it.

Both of their new songs are eligible (as is that new group song). Maybe both will get nominated, and Jennifer will get to sing her tune, too.

Yes, I saw it with a group from HHW and my nephew. It was great fun!

On the weather front, at 10:00 the local weather man said to enjoy it for the next week (it's in the 40s here) because after that a huge air mass is coming toward us from Siberia and it could be 20 below zero.  Aren't there some superheros somewhere who could push back or at least contain a Siberian Cold Front?

BK - Perhaps you're thinking of the song "On the Amazon' and its reference to apostrophes:

Snarling equinox among the rocks will seize you
And the fahrenheit comes out at night to freeze you
Wild duodenum are lurking in the trees
And the jungle swarms with green apostrophes
Oh, the Amazon is calling me

Think I'll take down all the outside Christmas Decorations tomorrow. There aren't very many, but it's going to be 40 and sunny so that should be a good day to do it

You did say you would  post the lyrics FJL. An opportunity at last.

I know the song from the Don McLean version

Hmm... I guess I should take tomorrow to unpack my stuff here... And maybe even make that trip out to IKEA.  I had been planning on heading to the one in Elizabeth, NJ, right off the Turnpike - I've passed it so many times, but I've never been in - but there's one a little closer - and with less tolls - in Paramus.  So... We'll see.

There are a lot of channels that could be showing the movie MARS ATTACKS right now. Why is Turner Classic Movies the one that is?

Some questions, alas, have answers we don't want to hear.

...Or answers that are just too stupid to be believable.
