The Witch's House was used as a location for the 1957 Roger Corman feature THE UNDEAD starring Miss Allison Hayes, among others.

And that will be our Page Three Dance.

It is located at 516 N. Walden Drive in Beverly Hills.  As DR RLP wrote yesterday it was moved there from Culver City....back in 1926!  ;D

Good morning, all!  I'm sitting here like so much fish waiting for the post to bring me a CD of "The Brain from Planet X" and I wish they'd move their butts.  I have to run to 14th Street for a moment after that, and I may have tickets for THE FANTASTICKS tonight.  I'm having a helluva time finding a date.

TOD:
DVD:  THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE (Anthony Warlow), FIDELIO conducted by Leonard Bernstein
CD:  Julie Andrews "Don't Go In The Lion's Cage," Guy Haines, "The Brain from Planet X' (hopefully)
    VCR:  Cheep cheep cheep

I think I just broke the DeepDiscountDVD website.  I clicked on the "Buy 1 Get 1" banner and a message came up telling me the server was down.

Hmmm.....my scanning software tells me the scanner is not plugged in, but the hardware manager tells me it is configured correctly.  I have plugged and unplugged, but still get the same message.  GRRRRRRR

Well I guess I shall have to be scanning a new way now and IMPORTING my photos into PhotoImpression to edit them.

ANYWHO - here is a photo from The Undead - featuring the Witch's House in the upper left hand corner - Mr Richard Garland and Miss Allison Hayes - AND a rather anachronistic Beverly Hills sidewalk.

Re: last night's UGLY BETTY.

I really enjoyed the show.  I liked how she still got to interact with the people from MODE.

Spoiler.

I was actually wondering how they were going to accomplish this (let her interact with those from MODE).  I'm actually glad that she will hopefully go back there. I wonder if Daniel will just have 2 assistants or how it will work.

I"m not sure why they decided to have her leave her job. It was just getting interesting.

Anyhow i'm not at all surprised that sophia was a snake.  I might not have predicted that her boyfriend was a stripper.  But it did seem like something was fishy.  And by the beginning of last night's show it seemed like daniel was destined to be heartbroken.

It's interesting to me how many shows do the thing where they show the end first and then go back in time (24 or 48 hours). I see it on almost every show.

Good morning.  Thanks, Bruce,  for the Last Starfighter CD news.  JRand's theory may be correct.  I also think we may have been on some year-end lists, which may have led folks to the kritzerland site.

Fewer coughin' fits last night than in a long while.  Good thing, because I must head in to the tax office today - and tomorrow.

Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz have called it quits.

I know that this will be shocking news to many here at HHW who wished those two darn kids just the best in the world.

And it's really terrible that it's being announced the weekend that Justin's new movie opens - he must feel sad.

BK - Were the new Last Starfighter orders from the Washington DC/Virginia area by any chance?  This had appeared in a recent DC online publication (see 4th paragraph).

Good Morning!

Time to move the car... (As opposed to "Time to make the donuts.")

Well, I've already moved the car, I'm just waiting to move it back in bit.

DR JRand - Yes, I'm making the BIG move to NYC.  Finally!  *Although, there is some "comfort" in knowing I've been a bit too busy to take care of it before now.  -That, or I'm just lazy.  ;)

As for the Friday Media Check...

Lots of stuff on-deck, but...

CD Player:
Christina Aguilera - "Back To Basics" - It was on sale at Virgin for $10 a couple of weeks ago, so...  And it's a 2-CD set too - What a bargain!  Fun stuff.
"Dreamgirls" - Soundtrack
The Beatles' "Love" - This is the quasi-soundtrack that George Martin put together for Cirque du Soleil.  It's a fascinating listen.  It truly takes "remixing" to a different level.  Bits and pieces of various Beatles songs are arranged and rearranged.  Of course, now i want to see the stage show.

Good morning!

Overcast here this morning and we may get rain, but we're starting a slow warming trend which will be welcome. Still, it's nice for January. I'm not complaining.

I saw in the newspaper this morning that the DREAMGIRLS soundtrack is #1 on the Pop Album chart. I'm delighted.

I am still VERY excited about finally getting to see the 1929 RIO RITA when it comes on this Sunday morning. It's going to be one of the highlights of this weekend for me.

My knowledge of early sound musicals is mostly from books rather than actually getting the chance to see the films, so this is BIG for me. TCM has afforded me practically the only opportunity to see the few early talkies that I've seen, and I'm very grateful to them. I doubt any of these films will ever see the light of DVD Day.

I don't have much interest in seeing BLOOD DIAMONDS either. Now, Leo's other film this year, THE DEPARTED, that I would be interested in seeing.
