Mickey Dolenz is currently in town playing Charlemagne in the PIPPIN tour. The reviews haven't been enthusiastic for this production, but I might try to catch it this weekend anyhow.

For example... Like many people who live in the Washington, DC, Area, I have not been to all the Smithsonian museums. And I even like art!

My family lived in Colorado for four years or so and we never went to Pike's Peak. We went to so many other tourist places all around Colorado (even the huge Colorado centennial/USA bicentennial celebration), but Pike's Peak was the one place that I knew of that we never went to.

This morning we went for a walk in the snow with Sherlock and then Keith spent about an hour shoveling the hill portion of our driveway.

The temps were rising & the sun was shining. The plan was to bring my car up once all the ice had melted. The fog rolled in, the sun disappeared & the temps began dropping again.

Keith rushed out to get my car, with difficulty he managed to barely get it moving uphill. I’m happy to report it is in the garage where it shall stay until tomorrow.

For BK, I would probably choose "relentless" or "undeterred." As a teenager, Bruce had a clear vision of what he wanted to do--at at age when most kids are totally clueless. I started my viewing this afternoon with last night's BOSTON LEGAL. Some really funny moments provided by William Shatner this week (I often find him irritating, but he made me laugh last night).

And I loved Shirley (Candace Bergen)'s summation in which the typical duties of a school teacher were listed.

Then, I got about a hour of TRAVELS WITH MY AUNT watched.

OMG! I didn't remember Lou Gossett OR Cindy Williams being in the movie! Of course, I hadn't seen it in probably thirty years.

The print on TCM was really pristine. I suspect Warners is going to release this on DVD this year since it looks like it's been cleaned up.

Monkees:

I transferred a Davy Jones LP to CD only a few days ago.

Mike Nesmith was the one with the talent. His solo work was (is) excellent.

Jukebox -- Some great pop songs by Neil Diamond and Boyce & Hart.

Annette was in "Monkey's Uncle". (Just an attempt to get JRand to read a post).

Major Lance thought it was Monkey time. So did George Michael.

This just in from VARIETY:

"NBC has renewed "The Office," "My Name Is Earl," "Heroes" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" for the 2007-08 season."

These are the first shows on any network that have been given the official go-ahead for next season. I'm sure the other networks will be following suit with their hits in the next few weeks.

The ratings for last night's IDOL: the second largest audience in the history of the series, and by far the highest rating any entertainment show has garnered on TV this season.

The only episode of IDOL that ever outrated last night's show was the Season 2 finale with CLay Aiken and Ruben Studdard.

Pretty amaaing that the audience keeps building for this show. After five years, you'd think there would be a peak, but that plateau doesn't seem to have been reached yet.

Nope, no plateaus with Idol.

Folks love seeing other people's dreams crushed and strewn all over major U.S. cities.

And there is a surplus of people quite capable of dreaming dreams impossible enough to be crushable and strewable.
