And now I really do have to go.

I just want to leave a subtle hint for dear Esteemed BK, for when he arises and greets the day.....

Hmmmmmmm??? MeThinks that "Crustacaen" sure sounds like a yummy choice for Sunday night.  Are they open Sundays, and would we need a reservation??  You could have Lobster, and just dip and dip in butter... and just when you thought you could dip no more... (well, you know the rest!)

Good morning everyone!

TOD:
- the chilean seabass served at the James Beard Dinner when I worked at Roundabout
- crab dinner with Rodzinski and my mom at the seafood restaurant in Union Square who's name I cannot remember right now

- filet o fish sandwich from McD's when I permit myself to have one every 1-2 years

I watched most of Grease last night but missed the first 4 performers. I tuned in to see Matt and then Ashley singing and thought they were atrocious. I was so relieved when the other singers started and thought the difference was vast.  I thought Juliana picked a terrible song as did a few others. If you have to sing in a broadway/theater style, it would make since to pick a song that sounds right sung that way.  Not something rockish that would sound better in another voice. But that's just my opinion.

And ballerina Sandy, whatever her name is, I agree with the judges looks like Sandy, but last night at least was one of the weakest vocally. Although props to her for picking a good song that emphasized her good points.

I saw Dreamgirls for the third time this weekend. Unfortunately the sound in the theater was screwy.  We complained to the manager afterward who apologized and gave us free passes. He said that they had experienced problems earlier in the day and the person who fixes it was out getting parts. Now if you knew you were having sound problems why wouldn't you move the show- or switch it with another movie, I don't know, maybe one that wasn't a musical, where the sound wouldn't have been such a glaring issue?

Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips was a real favorite of mine.  Tasted like oil and breading, which just happened to have a little fish with it.

I love fish...all types of fish...but salmon, bass, eel and trout are my favorites (although I hate the little bones).

Had salmon with rasberry sauce once that was wunderbar!

Clams, mussels, squid, octopus, crab, lobster, scallops...all good!

I think bringing Matt and Ashley back was a HUGE mistake.

When they announced the final 12 and said that Danny and Sandy were in that group, THATTA shoulda been THATTA.

So WHAT if those two were so terribly disappointed to have been cut.  Broadway crushes dreams by the tons.

NOW they (one or the other, probably Matt) will be PROPPED UP by all the "chickie-pops" and "crush-boys" who think he seems like the yummiest thing ever to stand on two legs and will be their fantasy man for as long as they can prop him up.

I thought he and Ashley were terrible, compared to the rest of the group.

The show -- for all it wasn't -- totally earned my disrespect for this terrible move.

As a child growing up with a restaurant owner as a father, I fell in love with lobster, with lots of butter for dipping.  I haven't had it in years, but I've been thinking about it recently.

I don't care for lobster.  I do remember everything else at the restaurant was delicious.  And the owner was always extra nice to me. :)

I think it would be awfully funny if this production of Grease got stuck with those two.

Growing up, I was a fan of shrimp (fried at first, and then shrimp cocktail later) and red snapper.  We always had catfish or crappie at home as my father loved to fish.  So did my mom, actually.  (Still does).  But the best fish always seemed to be had at the restaurants at "the beach".  We spent a week at Daytona Beach, FL, every year, and I loved my red snapper.

Years later, after not having eaten fish at all, I fell in love with calamari in Italy.  Still love it today, althought it's rare to find a restaurant that serves a tender, rather than chew, calamari.

I've come to love fish over the past few years....salmon, in all its forms, sole, tilapia, swordfish, catfish (especially blackened), trout...it's ALL GOOD!
