Well, you've read the notes, the notes were served cold, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - cows are a dish best served cold.

Very merry Birthdays to lovely DR Ben and to Iris!

Thank you for the compliment Bruce!

Time for bed (I asked to have this dish toasted as I do not like it cold...)

In my CD burner:  one of two newly burned CDs of songs that I recorded off of the Internet, songs that were originally video clips of The Manhattan Transfer from their 1970s TV show to guest appearances on talk shows to even a couple of video clips from some South American country!  YouTube is a wonderful thing. ;)

In my DVD player:  13 copies of "The Da Vinci Code"...no really!  The library system where I work (which has 27 branches in five counties) bought 20 copies of the movie and 14, count 'em...14! copies have been checked out to me as defects!  (I deal with defective items and incorrect quantities and problems, etc., and get replacements, where appropriate.)  There is still one more copy that needs to be sent in, but 14 bad discs out of 20 is NOT A GOOD THING!!  Just curious...does anyone have this movie and has anyone had any problem with the movie disc (disc 1)?

The reason that I have them at home is that when DVDs are turned in as defective, I try them on my DVD players here to see if they have the same problem.  If they're legitimately sold DVD-Rs, we have a label that we put in the case so that patrons know that a particular disc might not work in their player, but that it's not a problem.

I think that the "device" is a promo for the AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE Movie. A good friend of mine is the editor/coproducer of ATHF. He also made the movie STOMP, SHOUT, SCREAM that MBarnum mentioned not long ago. Both of our films have ben making the festival rounds at the same places so we've gotten to spend a lot of time together, which is great. But his film isn't showing in Boston and mine is, so I accused him of trying to sabotage our screenings with a lite-brite.

The Cartoon Network is known for starting new campaigns with some intriguing teaser ads so we're used to seeing odd things around downtown Atlanta. But they alway have some sort of CN logo, so that was pretty stupid of them not to give people a clue.  I have a feeling that the shipoopi is gonna hit the fan at CN!

Quinn's mom works for the Cartoon Network, so I'll have to get her take on it.

BTW, DR FJL mentioned The Last Starfighter the day before yesterday and I wanted to mention that Quinn's mom and I share a love for this film---she gave me my copy many years ago.

And there is still no one in the jernt ('cept me).

I didn't see my shadow when I left since the sun was not yet up. It's pleasant right now but it's supposed to turn unpleasant (weather wise) as the day rolls on. We have been very lucky so far with winter weather and having grown up in Minnesota I'm not going to complain about a little rain/snow/cold in February.

Thank you Tom, Adriana, George, Edisaurus, Laura and Bruce for the Birthday Wishes.

I am listening to Friday Night is Music Night on BBC Radio 2 at the moment. I don't have anything specific at the office right now. I have two meetings (you couldn't have scheduled them on a different day  ;)) so my day will not be uninterrupted desk sitting.

We will probably see The Queen this evening. We have a wonderful cake given to me by our dear friends from Nottingham. I spoke of them last week. They are in Philadelphia right now celebrating the birthday of their Aunt Mary who is 100 years old. She came to Philadelphia from Ireland as a young teenager and stayed for the rest of her life. I should only live to be 100!

I am appalled at the MISTER CORY development.  It is - on top of everything else - disgraceful.  How can something like this happen?  How can a print not show up?  Why was it announced if it was NOT definite.  You should get half your money back...and refuse to pay the entertainment tax for sure.

Well DR EDISAURUS - I like most of the Adult Swim original programming on CN....but ATHF ain't one of them.  I have tried to watch it, but I cannot understand ONE WORD that MeatWad says...NOT ONE WORD....I have tried several times, watched again last night to be sure...so I don't watch it.

DR GEORGE (and other DRs) - watching I LOVE LUCY with the CC on is VERY funny.....they do some clever things with Ricky's lines and Lucy's crying.  And it's a neat way to see something that you've seen a hundred times.  I love to do that.
