-Heck, when I head to Memphis in a couple of days, I'll be dealing with about 800 people... over 4 days... And not all of them will be singing.

Thank you, DearReaderLaura!  Is there fudge attached?

Maybe when you least expect it.

Did I miss it mentioned earlier.  Frankie Laine died.

I really would prefer not going to the reading, but I feel one must be supportive, like a jock strap.

That's sad.  My dad loved Frankie Laine. :(

What are you doing with Howard Bannister's rocks?

I always wanted to touch Howard Bannister's rocks.

I had mac and cheese for dinner.  It was quite good, but I have to end this mac and cheese addiction.  I'm tired of having a mac and cheese on my back.  I want a Mack and Mabel on my back.

I subscribe to the saying at work that "if a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind, what then is an empty desk the sign of?"

Hey, I resemble that remark  ;)

Was I complaining about the heat?  No.  However, the knocking and pounding from the radiator pipes, well, that's another story.

Sorry, I thought you were, just teasing you know.   ;D

Larry, I know it's hard and there isn't much to say that doesn't sound cliched or worse. Having gone through it with my father in 1993 I do think that if the hospice care is good, it can be one of the best things to come out of all this. I'm a big fan of hospice care, having seen what it did for my father and my family. Even if/when you're ready for it, the passing still hurts but good hospice care (both emotional and physical) can make the hurt more understandable even though it doesn't take away the pain.

However...  I did hear the property manager and the boiler/radiator people out in the hall earlier today - and going up and down the stairs to the basement...  And from the way the apartment feels right now, it feels like they may have adjusted the thermostat.

-Or it could be just that much colder outside.  But I'll stick with the former for now.

We are the jock straps, my friend
Sometimes we may ride up in the end

Wasn't that a song from the 1960's?

I may be thinking of We Are The Campions, the song about the family of Carlotta Campion.  Easy mistake.

Apart from Mr Laine's well-known hits, he recorded with the following partners:
Jo Stafford
Doris Day
Buck Clayton
Four Lads
Jimmy Boyd
Johnnie Ray

They don't write songs like "How Lovely Cooks The Meat".  (one of the duets with DD)

"We are the Champignons".  Wasn't that used in Disney's Fantasia.

And I was just thinking about the things I keep saying I want....it's a bit scary....in my case I feel like I'm getting ready to dive off a diving board into a pool and I don't know if it's heated or if it's ice water.  But I can't wait to find out, lol

Well, I think it's official...  I did absolutely nothing today.  Now, of course, if I happen to have one of my late-night cleaning jags, well...  But, otherwise, I did nothing.  Which is OK.

David Letterman was a singer in 1962??  Who knew?

;)
That was before his voice changed.

DR Ben, the hospice situation is fine with me.  I know it's the best thing for him now. What's tearing me apart is that no matter how much you think you're prepared, the reality hurts.  I weep for him and selfishly weep for myself.

I am grateful for all of my friends and very appreciative of their support.

As a matter of fact, that was the original short that had been planned... but the idea sort of mushroomed.
