Perhaps my postman got confused.  He told me they weren't delivering today or next Monday.

I just mailed a package and bought stamps at MY post office.....  ;D

RE: GREASE YOU'RE THE ONE THAT I WANT.

Do any of you get the feeling that Juliana will NOT be Sandy?  I don't think the judges like her.  I mean they don't dislike her.  But it's clear that most of them have their favorites.  And not once have any of them chosen her as their favorites.

Perhaps my postman got confused.  He told me they weren't delivering today or next Monday.

Do they consider Lincoln's Birthday an official "take the day off" kind of holiday?

Either way, a very happy birthday to Prez Lincoln!

The USPS site is difficult to navigate.  And a "2007 Holidays" link on the first page would be nice.  I can't even remember how I got there last night.

Handwritten letter from Ms Allison Hayes has bids of over $202 - with several days to go.

I have three cards/letters from her.  Maybe I can buy a new TV....if I ever wanted to sell them.

    * Monday, February 19 - Washington's Birthday (President's Day)
    * Monday, May 28 - Memorial Day
    * Wednesday, July 4 - Independence Day
    * Monday, September 3 - Labor Day
    * Monday, October 8 - Columbus Day
    * Monday, November 12 - Veterans Day Observed
    * Thursday, November 22 - Thanksgiving Day
    * Tuesday, December 25 - Christmas Day

DR RonP, re: GREASE YOU'RE THE ONE THAT I WANT.

I think that it would have been fair for the audience to vote for the bottom 2 and then have the judges choose who goes, BUT ONLY IF THEY HAD MADE THIS CLEAR BEFORE THE VOTING BEGAN.

Other shows like SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE do this and it actually works.

My problem is not that they chose to go this route. IT's that they advertised it as the public voting and then only mentioned this sing off thing AFTER they did not like who America voted out.

I have no idea if they planned the sing-off all along. Perhaps they did (although it seems fishy).  But they should have made it clear. You don't announce the voting system after the voting has occured.

And re: AMERICAN IDOL. I like that they stand by whoever america chooses.  So what if the audience on GREASE got it wrong.  They would have voted those two out next week.  But why even bring them back when they were the weakest?  Of course the judges would vote them out. They have the least training and would need a lot of work.

It just makes me mad that the judges brought back people. America voted to keep them, and then the judges decided to get rid of them. To me the judges should have done what the public wanted. Now next week everyone will know that the bottom 2 are both not safe. So it will at least be fair. But to me this week was a sham. It really bothers me that they only announced the rules after the voting was done. Not fair at all!

Btw, i wonder if there is anyway to find out who is getting the most votes. I may check into that.

DR DtM - and the next thing you know, they are up to their necks in water....

One of my favorite episodes of The Lucy Show!

Mine too!  One of the few Lucy Shows that relied on the kind of physical comedy that made I Love Lucy so great.

Is that photo reversed?  I distinctly recall the shower plumbing being on the other side.

Sorry I had to log out abruptly there.  One of our computer techs just installed a brand new flat screen monitor at my desk.  I've been asking for one of these for the longest time and am now a happy librarian  :D

In the "how others love to follow our lead" department - I was perusing one of those theater sites - one that has taken several leads from our little corner of the Internet.  They have a little sort of feud going with another theater website.  Guess what they call that website - first one to guess gets a gold star.

Nope DR DtM - that's the way it is.  They do shoot some of the scene from a camera behind the glass on the screen right side.

The "site that shall not be named"?

You can watch the colorized version of it here:

What a terrific website!  Unfortunately, I've been having trouble with the sound card with my work PC, so I'll peruse this site more when I get home.  I can't wait till I see that Milton Bradley Bash commercial!

Bingo.  What's next?  "Arthur, you've eaten more meat than anyone in this room?"  "What is it, fish?"  "Sitting on my couch like so much fish?"  Excellent vibes?"

OK, here's all that really important stuff I was trying to tell DR GEORGE.
Something that the clutter pros may not tell you:

Every time I do a Massive Cull I throw out something which I later regret. I've learned to accept this. I've also learned to put things that I REALLY DON'T WANT TO LOSE in a special place. Tax douments, for instance. In fact, I like to get all my tax stuff together and in the hands of my accountant BEFORE I clean out my office. (sigh.) In fact, sometimes I'll put things in my safe deposit box just to make sure that they don't get tossed along with all the rest. (Of course, sometimes I forget that that's where they are...) It's very easy to throw something out by mistake.

Thanks for the info!  I'll definitely make sure that I don't through away all my important papers.

DR George, I got my shipping notice this morning from Amazon saying that A SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM had shipped this morning. Thus, I hope to have it on WEdnesday (if luck is with me) or by Friday otherwise. Very excited to get it.

Cool!  I wanted to compare prices between Amazon.com and Deepdiscount.com (no longer deepdiscountDVD.com or deepdiscountCD.com, they've been combined).  BUT, on my home computer for this entire weekend, I couldn't get to Amazon.com!  All I got was the "This page cannot be displayed" message!  At work and my sister's computer, it was fine, but my home computer wouldn't allow it!  I just tried and it's finally working.  Anyway, Amazon.com is about $2.62 cheaper (but I have to pay tax and buy something else to get the free shipping), but, it's still less than Deepdiscount.com.  It has NOW been purchased. :)
