The trousers now fit! Yay! Hurray!
This morning the minister who will speak at the funeral came by to get our input on what we'd like for the service and to get stories about dad. He was a very kind young man, and I think the shebang will go well tomorrow.
I drove into town to pick up my trousers and run a few errands. On my way back I got distracted by the Macbeth's postbox which had a streamer hanging from it and I foolishly pulled into their driveway. Since it was too icy and narrow to drive backward, I drove down to their house, turned around and headed out, only to slide on the ice into a huge pile of snow and become stuck. That sent Lady M to the phone to call (3 times!) to ask Randy what I was doing and why I hadn't stopped in. As if he knew. I needed to get back and try on the pants, in case I had to go out and buy a suit!
So, I'm sitting there unable to move forward or back and my brother came out to check out the scene. He went away, and I thought, I'll leave the car here and walk back, when my brother showed up with a shovel and proceeded to dig me out. I told him to let me shovel and push and he could maneuver the car, but no, he insisted I get into the car, as the tension between us rose.
Just as my nephew Matt showed up to help, Tom got all ballistic screaming at me to go forward, go back, turn the wheels, etc. The gist is, I got out of my drift and got the car back to Randy's, feeling totally inept as a driver - which is almost true anyway - and a failure as a sensible human being. Tom called ten minutes later and apologized, Matt's comment to me was that was how he behaved on the job with the employees. Oy!
I did get a very lovely email from our DR Cason AKA Zubrick. He wants those boxers bad, I can tell. Oh, my BRain arrived today! I think I'll go up and play it along with DR Matthew's CD which arrived yesterday.
