Or can you broadcast a show in HD that was NOT filmed in HD?  Would a digital DVD be in HD?

Well...I must be going.  After I take a shower (in a few minutes), I'll be off to my sister's for dinner and card games with the family.  But she wants me to get there early to make some kind of upside-down pear cake.  She has a recipe and it seems simple enough, but for some reason she wants me to make it.  Fine, I'll make it.  I've set my DVR to record tonight's shows (just in case I don't get back in time).  Until later!

The lady could sure kid herself.

Loved her on a Password rerun that originally aired around the time of Life With Lucy, lovely and humble, I thought.

There was the sweet moment of that Password where the clue was "wacky" and she guessed it was herself, and she was correct.  I really enjoyed that.

Wonder how if I LOVE LUCY looks any different when broadcast in HD?

It was filmed rather than taped (not really around then) or kinescoped, so it should look quite wonderful if it's ever remastered for high definition.

CASABLANCA is out now on HD-DVD (coming soon to Blu-ray), and every review I've read has raved about the increased detail, sense of depth, and sharpness in the HD image. I think LUCY might look very good indeed.

I began my afternoon viewing with Friday night's GHOST WHISPERER. I'm not a weekly viewer, but this was an interesting episode with some character shifts I wasn't expecting.

And I LOVE the actor who played the thief (not the ghost). Besides being gloriously handsome, he has a very foreceful personality that always comes through with the characters he plays.

Next came the hilarious OFFICE with two stories: Ryan asks Michael to speak at his business school (where, of course, he makes the usual ass of himself); and a bat gets loose in the Dunder-Mifflin offices. Much hilarity with that second story which later segued into Pam's first art showing. How my heart hurt for her!

Six-year-old Joey was not at church today to help with the table moving and other set-up activities. Instead, 89-year-old Ruby was my helper. Or I helped her. With a six-year-old, I get to be in charge; with an 89-year-old, she is in charge.

Then, I enjoyed Friday night's LAW & ORDER, an accident that turned into murder with multiple suspects all keeping their mouths shut for various reasons. Very clever the way McCoy finally got around to the truth.

I ended the afternoon watching CINDERELLA III. It's a far more ambitious sequel to the classic film than that first miserable effort. This one actually had a story and animation that tried mightily to match with the original pastel-themed drawings. The new songs were rather forgettable, but then, most of these made-for-video sequels have limited budgets and thus aren't going to get the best composers for the music.

There's a great DOlby Digital 5.1 sound mix on the DVD. The artwork bragged that there was also a DTS selectable track, but it wasn't on my disc.

Last night, DRs MBarnum and MusicGuy were discussing a HHW get together in NYC the week of June 25.  DH Richard and I are going to Washington, DC on June 22 or 23 to attend the American Library Association annual conference and had planned to vacation there for the rest of that week.  But, we had also been talking about a jaunt from there to New York, too, so maybe we'll leave DC when the conference is over and spend the rest of the week in the Big Apple.  I'm not due back to work until July 5.

Hey, this might all work out!!!

Hi DR DANISE.

If I win the Powerball, I am there in June!  The month of June, that is.

The I Love Lucy box sets claim "Digital Remastering" but remain mum on HD.

Back from a lovelier than lovely drive - the day is warm, even if the sky is still overcast.  I've been catching up on my CD listening.  I still have not had a response from amazon about the review function on the Brain page.
