Callie decided I should be awake at 4:40 AM again.  I'm wondering if she hears the garbage truck as it goes up the other side of the block. It seems most of the time when this happens, the garbage truck comes by my house shortly thereafter

I tried to get back to sleep, but too many things happening in my brain (as opposed tp THE BRAIN).  I have many things going on a work between now and leaving for New York one week from tomorrow as well as my parents coming to visit this weekend.  I haven't finished cleaning and what started as an overnight on their way through may be 2-3 nights due to the weather....only time will tell

So I'm up. I must admit I do like having extra time before I start my day. Think I'll go make some coffee and have breakfast.

Good morning, all!  I think my headcold isclearing up.  JoAnn is now feeling so much better that between 5:30 and 7:30AM, she'd cleaned the living room and moved all the furniture around.  I'm waiting for our attorney to tell me what executor chores I have today (if any).  I'm getting hot to head back to Manhattan.

This morning, as I was taking the milk from the refrigerator for my coffee, I had a flash memory from about 10 years ago of my dad wrapping frozen pieces of beef - hamburger, steaks, etc - into newspaper and telling me it would stay frozen until I got to New York and packing the chunks of frozen food into my luggage.  The meat did stay frozen and supplied me with soup and meals for several months.

So, today - until (or if) I hear from our attorney - I'll work on a number for Kevin Spirtas.  I'd like to get his charts into the post by tomorrow, snce he's having them copied in LA.

DR George, I like a lot of the new HAPPY END recording. Has anyone yet told us what Cason's new job is and why it's preventing his appearance?[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happiest of Birthday Greetings to Our DR Matthew !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also enjoyed the new HAPPY END recording.  Lots of great performances and the orchestrations are terrific.  The only disappointment is "The Bilboa Song"--there's something about this production's Bill Cracker that just sounds off to me in this track (he's fine on other parts of the recording.)

Happy happy happy natal day to DR Matthew!! Stay warm, bubeleh!

elmore - it is so nice that you have wads of work with you. Executor is not a terrible job, but it's no fun - not like writing a clarinet fill. I lloved (2 "L's) your Meat story - I am still having small meaningful memories like that. Being here in LA, at the Scene of the Crime, so to speak, I see my parents everywhere. Turning a corner of a forgotten street, suddenly there they are, a remembered snatch of conversation, an insignificant purchase in a store that's no longer there... those are the hidden treasures, holy relics I'm still uncovering, as the days go by.

School was great last night - Tuesday nights I have Human Behavior/Communication and Poetry. So the communication we discussed was Intimidation - wow! fascinating stuff! And I read my Beat Poem in the Poetry class. Each week, we read a genre, and the assignment is to write a poem in that style for the following week. I prefer writing the structured, formal poems. But the "beat" poem was pretty fun - I was inspired by my weekend of sleeping all night to the Cartoon Channel in my nephew's tin can of a motorhome up in Santa Cruz. Yup - Anime. Last line: How does your Anima sleep to Anime?"

Good morning to all of the lovely and sun-dried H/Ks here today.  I think that the Poobah of Studio City is still probably making ZZZZs, so we must step lightly and be like little church mice. :)

My question for  "Ask BK Day"............

This is selfish, for the next time that I am driving around in L.A. ---  What would be the closest major cross streets to where your family home was when you grew up?  Olympic & La Cienega...... Or Robertson?   And was your house on Sherbourne?

You know, it's very funny (and kind of "spooky" to quote Dame Edna), but Benjamin Kritzer seems to have lived right in that area also.  Go know !

Good morning!

We had a sprinkling of rain overnight, and it's still partly cloudy, but it's going to be warm the next few dyas - near 70! And it's still February.
