BK--I was hoping you might show some of The Brain DVD at the par-tay. Had you mentioned it, I could have Fex-Exed you the revised Act I with better audio. After working on it over the past month, I am happy that the cast will get to see some of it. And I'm sure it will be a festival and noisy affair, so they audio probably won't be an issue.

 I Need Vibes, DRs!

Good morning, all!  I don't know if it's the round with Macbeth, fear of flying, or something waiting for me back in New York, but I woke this morning with great anxiety and fear of getting out of bed.  Liza Minnelli did not, thankfully, call me last night in my dreams, although I did dream that I was in London with the MARY POPPINS cast(!!!) and had become separated from my friend Loyce Martin and could not locate her.

I am now off to post two cartons, do some banking, sign and pay for my dad's 2006 IRS return.

TOD: I have nada here, but I do look forward to using my VCR when I get back to NYC!

In honor of tonight's party, we should post our favorite Brain lyrics. I'll start:

Find out if they're kinky, or what they really thinkee

Earth, you'll soon be handing your keys to me

As a young brain I didn't have issues
Just a brain with some lovely brain tissues

CD:  Fifties Rock - some early songs I hadn't heard for Many Years!

After listening mainly to classical music for many years, I listened a while back to some old '50's rock and was amazed at how much I enjoyed it. I guess I'd gotten to thinking of classical as superior--a sort of musical chauvinism--then saw how wrong I'd been. I really love some of that old music!

Has anyone else had this sort of experience?

Peaceful travel vibes for our dear Elmo. The anxiety is natural, once a lot of the busy work is done. You will be one of the beloved stars of this here partay tonight, Larry.

Another very pretty day here. I have my errands to run later, and it will be a pleasure getting them done in the spring-like weather we're having today.

I agree about RETURN TO OZ. It's a very interesting film and disturbingly enjoyable. I read THE LAND OF OZ and some of the other sequels so many years before I saw the film, but it certainly seemed to have some of the ideas from those books incorporated into the movie.

Season finales of MONK and PSYCH tonight; no new episodes until this summer.

Most other shows on the networks also have new episodes on tonight. I'll probably be giving GHOST WHISPERER another try, too.

I'm up, I'm up.  Was on the phone at seven with Mitsubishi (in India) at seven, troubleshooting.  We unplugged the TV, we took out the lamp, we shook the lamp, we put the lamp back in, we screwed everything back in, we plugged in the TV - the green light blinked then went solid, we turned on the TV - nada.  Nothing.  Black.  The green light went back to red.  We did a system reset.  The green light blinked, then went solid.  We turned on the TV.  Nada.  Nothing.  Black.  The gentleman from India told me to call GE, since they handle my extended warranty and would have to have someone come out and troubleshoot further.  I did.  I got someone on the phone at GE (in India).  He has set an appointment for tomorrow between 1 and 5 and they will hopefully be able to bring a new lamp, just in case the lamp is the problem.  Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty, as this part of it doesn't cost anything, and if it's the lamp that is now covered under warranty for ninety days.  The saga continues.  Shortly I shall go over to Von's to order food.

No booze at the partay - school, you know.  If they have enough notice (like a month) they can sometimes clear it so we can have wine, but we'll just have an array of other things.

Sorry you're having such trouble with the lamp, bk. They are meant to be replaced easily (one of the bonuses of having a DLP-style rear projection TV).

Did you notice if the lamp's serial number was the same as the one you replaced? I just wondered if maybe someone didn't send you the lamp for a newer model that they assumed would be compatible and wasn't.

Last night's "American Idol":

SPOILERS?

Paul Kim WAS featured during audition/Hollywood...I remember him very clearly...much more so than most of the guys, including some backstory.  So that rather quashes the certainty that the first to go are always those with no previous exposure.  I also remember both girls from auditions.

Also, there was QUITE the announcement about Fantasia being signed to STAR in "The Color Purple" -- that was the Broadway announcement.

I think it was made quite clear that the women fared far better with the judges this week than did the men.  At least five, possibly six, women got mostly positive remarks, whereas only two men did.
