I'm off to hunt down lunch.  I want something tasty and nutritious.  WE shall see what we find...

There is no way I’m going to try and catch up on yesterday’s posts.  Besides, we lost power & I didn’t get to watch the awards.

Gotta go, don’t know if I can get back on again later.

Very convenient.

Not as convenient as Quaker Instant! Nuke some water, zip open the packet, add, stir, wait three minutes and enjoy! (I always add butter and brown sugar.)

There is also Quaker Crunch, instant as well.  Nuke water, add to oatmeal and then stir in the packet of good stuff that includes brown sugar and a bit of cinnamon.

I still find it exasperating that David Letterman laid such a huge egg when he hosted.

Boy!  You can tell when it's the day AFTER an awards show.

Things move slowly.

Last night, we were starting new pages every five minutes or less.

Mine isn't labelled "Crunch", but I have "Maple & Brown Sugar" and  "Apples & Cinnamon".

I vote that they bring Ellen back as host for next year!

The NY POST sure gave her a pan!

Quote
THE INCREDIBLE, INVISIBLE ELLEN THAT'S MY BABY!

Ellen DeGeneres keeps an Oscar statuette close to her heart while hamming it up as host of the 79th annual Academy Awards last night. February 26, 2007 -- IT WAS almost as if there were no host at all.

Ellen DeGeneres' role last night in her first outing as host of the Academy Awards was so infinitesimal, it makes you wonder why they even have a host.

So, do you think Meryl Streep really is a Size 14? (to match her 14 nominations).

I saw one of her Out of Africa costumes at an exhibit at the museum, it was teeny tiny.   Unless she's gained a ton since then, I'd be surprised if she's a 14

Goodness, it will take me forever to catch up on last night's posts. It sounds like everyone had a lovely party. I was sitting on the couch drinking champagne, criticising dresses with my friend and toward the end, doing my absolute best to stay awake in spite of it being the longest and least engaging awards show ever.

Answer to last night's Paper Chase question, the movie was Paper Chase, but the book was "One L" by Scott Turrow.  One L is what some schools call students in their firs year of law school. We just called them "First Years"

IMDB gives all writing credit to John Jay Osborn Jr. Turrow's own web site lists no film credit for Paper Chase".

Well, the book is One L - that much I know. I read it long before the Paper Chase came out and the characters have the same names and the same thing is going on

And since i still have like 20 pages left to read from last night here are my oscar thoughts:

I liked ellen. I did not like that opening number with all those people talking.

I liked the al gore/leo banter.

I loved ellen in the audience giving marty a scrpt and asking steven spielberg to take her photo.

I absolutely loved those acrobats/shadow dances. They were beautiful and quite brilliant.

I liked the jack black/will f/john r song..

Interesting, on Amazon they appear to have Paper Chase different from One L, but they really are the same characters. That's pretty fascinating.  Of course they were both written by people going to law school at Harvard probably around the same time, so that very well may explain why the characters are the same
