I thought I'd post this pic from the recent filming that happened at the house here....these will be some Arizona State PSAs for anti-smoking.  This picture is what I'm talkin' about !!  Craft services in the morning included a "made to order" omelette station, plus really good pastries, fresh fruit, lots of different juices, cereals, coffee, tea, etc.

A great perk of being a location....... ;D

Good morning!

What can I say? Another beautiful day in North Carolina though a bit cooler than yesterday - highs only in the high 50s today. Still, it's cheering to know spring is on its way!

Thursday morning greetings!  As a follow-up to yesterday's medical appointment, I had to go for fasting blood work this morning.  One of my veins "blew" (don't know exactly what that means, but it doesn't sound good), so the tech had to abort that attempt and go for the other arm.  Fortunately, I had a nice breakfast date with DH Richard to look forward to and now I'm at work.

I've done a great many shows that I'm very proud of, both the show itself and what I did within the show.

However, if I had to say the thing I'm proudest of, it's my thirty year career as a junior high school (later middle school) English teacher. I stayed at the same school for the entire tenure of my working life and because I did, I taught in some cases two generations of children in the same families. I had students of mine come back and become teachers in the school where I worked. I had parents insisting that their children be placed in my class. And I had the high school English teachers who to a person said they could pick out my students from their classes.

I have to end early today and head down to clean up for lunch with friends. We're doing it early today: 11:30.

DR MattH, when are the audition dates for THE MUSIC MAN? Will there be an orchestra for the performances?

I just finished Liz' band parts!  Yay! Hooray!

Blue skies are smiling at me, and I'm smiling right back, at least as much of a smile as I can muster this early in the morning.

What a nice experience, SINGDAW!

- getting to work with the ridiculously talented Bruce Kimmel, who was one of the mavericks I admired certainly since my college days, and even before.  This is probably an "accomplishment" I got through my association with Skip rather than through my own abilites, but it's been a very happy situation.

How did you first hear about Bruce, DR FJL? Thru TFNM?

Thanks, DR Jeanne!   :)  It certainly was.

Since you seem to be up your BK trivia, can you tell us, please, if any of BK's fabled television appearances from the past [referenced yesterday] are available for viewing on YouTube?

I'm at work right now and don't want to risk a check...

Thanks!

TOD:  Three little words indeed:  Cason Warinner Murphy

What a delightful child -- I'm so proud to think he's my kid.....he makes me laugh and laugh and laugh, and when I think I can't laugh any more, he makes me laugh some more...one word comes to mind when I think of him: joy

...25 years with the little leprechaun...

...I'm also proud of any time I've worked with children -- through children's theatre, church, volunteer programs, or school stuff -- they are our future so any time we can encouarge them, make them feel like they can make a diffference, have something special within themselves, I think that is a good thing.  I love kids and they are so much fun to work with....and any of my work with the performing and visual arts, I can't describe the feeling of what I get out of the creative process...the arts are my manna from heaven

That one's gonna be pretty hard to beat -- how cool, fun (puppies!!), and rewarding.  Way to go, Dingdaw!!

Slainte DR Dakota ~  Saw your greetings yesterday, thanks,  and yes, I saw where you and DS Case closed down the HHW joint the other night.  You both should earn extra Brownie points from bk from aiding the post and view totals -- and doing so using such an excellent topic -- All Things Irish!

Ah, SINGDAW. Let me explain about my "BK trivia." Bruce and I knew each other as teenagers--Bruce was my very first boyfriend. I recall many things from those years, but unfortunately, Bruce and I lost contact about the time he graduated from high school. I happened across him last summer while doing a web search, emailed him, and ta-da! here I am. (Bruce's version of events is in the archives under "I Dream of Jeannie.") I deeply regret that we lost touch for so long and I am still trying to catch up on all he's done in his career! Yes, still. So, I know lots about him in some ways, yet there are huge gaps I'm still trying to fill.

I'm also not a YouTube person. May I suggest DR MICHAELSHAYNE as the official BK documentarian? He put together brucekimmel.com.

I'd be happy to answer whatever else I can--of course, then I'd have to kill you. :)

I can't find a picture of oatmeal with raisins. I sometimes put cranberries in with the raisins or I will chop an apple and put that in as well. I've never put almonds in my oatmeal.

How about:

Chai oatmeal topped with raisins, currants and brown sugar

or:

Apple cinnamon oatmeal, with cranberries instead of the usual raisins.

All of this background information is great, as I start to piece together the tangled webs woven  many connections here.

Der B, given the context I'd agree, but actually, you know, it COULD be correct either way. :)
