I had a terrible nightmare last night. I had just signed up for classes at Arizona State University, and I found out that two of the classes were taught by the dreaded Dr. C.

**Cue blood-curdling scream**

But, again, think of the stories you could/would tell!

Think of your adoring public!

I want you people to know that there is plenty of food in this house. She rejected it all in favor of frosting.

LOL, Dr Laura, I'm sure no one here thought you were forcing DR Sandra to put down the vegetables and eat frosting  ;D

Now, maybe if my mother would promise to eat a plate, we could talk about some of those vegetables.

Isn't frosting one of the four food groups?

What kind of frosting was it?? If it was chocolate, that IS a food group.

I am really overtired right now.  I know I'll have to do some major smoothing out of what I wrote today, but I just was happy to get the three pages done - it's all there, I just have to move some stuff around, add some atmosphere, and make it a bit more fun.  I'm dealing with trying to make the reader understand the geography of the location, and that is suprisingly hard.  What I may end up doing is actually putting a diagram of the location (as drawn by the character) in the book itself.  It would be one thing if it were a straightforward location, but what it really is is an "L" shaped alley and it's really hard to convey it clearly and keep north, south, east, west clear and also make it "visual" for the reader, geography-wise.

I started watching The Gang's All Here but it's a VERY dark and not so attractive transfer and I am having no patience with it.

Chocolate, of course! Is there any other kind?

And before you foodies berate me, I do know that there are other kinds of frosting. That question is what you would call "rhetorical." I think.

I began my evening with another episode of LAW & ORDER: CI from the second season set. This one involved a man with early onset Alzheimer's whose father was moving heaven and earth to help him, but not for obvious reasons. Really wonderful, surprising story.

Well, my GREASE appraisal:

First, I was totally shocked by one of the members of the bottom two, simply because not only was he the strongest of the contestants but he'd been in the top two (I'd assumed) since the first week of voting. I think going first last week might have hurt him. Also, the fact that two other cute guys seemed to be in danger may have spurred people to vote for them instead of voting for him.

I wasn't surprised the judges chose who they chose. In a singing duel, there was just no contest.

I recorded tonight's TAR, but without even reading DR Cillaliz's Spoiler I can guess at the outcome.  Hoo and Ray!

I bet $20,000.

You will win, but who's to pay off the bet. Maybe Guy Haines will, the namesake of this site!  ::)

Do you go back to rehearsals tomorrow, DR Jose?

Monday is the day off, so I shall not be heading back into rehearsals until Tuesday.  And Tuesday should be another relatively easy day.  The ensemble starts Tuesday, and the first part of the day will consist of another "meet & greet" as well the "Equity business".  Then the second half is music with the ensemble.

However, I'm planning on getting up early tomorrow and taking care of a couple of errands, so that I can have the rest of day free to do with what I please.  -Alas, after just going through my mail from the past couple of the days, it looks like I'm going to have make a few phone calls to my health insurance company: I just got the forms from them regarding my ER visit for my stitches... from back in November!  -They better take care of any late fees!

In any case, I'm basically off tomorrow, and I'm actually think of heading down to Splash tomorrow night too for Musical Mondays - it's been months since the last time I went.

As for individual comments on GREASE:

Laura is the strongest woman by a mile. Her "Don't Love Me This Way" had power and emotion. Allie had a solid vocal with "Natural Woman," but I thought Ashley was shaky on "You Keep Me Hangin' On" and didn't know what to do with her hands.

I thought Austin's "Can't Help Falling in Love With You" was set a key or two too low for him, so he didn't get to show off his range or power with it (though he did in the opening number "Grease" this week.) The background singers were so loud, they obscured Max's vocals on "Suspicious Minds" and I thought I detected some notes off pitch. So, I'd have to give the men's prize to Derek this week with "Devil in Disguise." It was nothing special, but compared to his cracking voice the previous two weeks, his voice was rock solid on this.

Austin and Laura both got two of three judges' votes (Rob Marshall basically abstained), so I guess they'd be declared this week's winners. I liked everything Austin did except his solo, and it just seemed too low.

Do we get NO Grease reports?

Umm...  Well...

-Or maybe my absence of spoilers and details did not warrant calling my posts "reports".

However... The show was kind of boring tonight, so... nothing really much to report.  -Even with the "surprise" of the bottom two Danny's.  The one who went home was no surprise.  Otherwise, it was the same ole, same ole...

Bad song choices - made by the producers.
Bad song arrangements made by whomever - Does no one on that music staff know how to button a song?
The group musical number was an embarrassment.
And the guest judge provided no real commentary nor critique.
