DR Jose - I've enjoyed your postings from Atlanta and the conference.  Thanks for sharing with us!

Travel vibes - looks like a beautiful day for flying.

And it is indeed a beautiful day here in Atlanta!  I checked out of my room earlier this morning just so that I could sit outside for a while and be out in gorgeous weather.

-And after our brunch, DR edisaurus drove us over to the Carter Presidential Library where we walked around the grounds for a little bit before heading to the airport. There were some gorgeous dogs - I forget the exact breeed - being walked, and I believe DR edisaurus made some new 'friends' in the process.   -And there were some nice dogs at the place we had brunch too - we ate outside.

And I just checked the weather for the week back in NYC... :)

*Although, I'm wondering why the "fitness forecast" for tomorrow is listed at 1 (on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "uncomfortable") when it's supposed to be in the mid-50s?

I suspect that many of us have had this same experience. It's a good problem to have!
Thank you, DR Jeanne.  And yes, it is!

DR elmore - It was indeed RealTime Music Solutions and Jeff Lazarus we ran into at the conference.  -Strangely enough, I don't think MTI sent down a rep this year.

Woody is blame for my regular use of the Quote funtion - DRs were constanly confusing what I was quoting with what was original thought.

I thought DR Jose was the one to blame here at HHW....

And as for the final day/night of the conference...

It really was a very good conference overall.  I didn't get that "third day fatigue" like I normally do.  I think part of that had to with the fact that more people seem properly prepared this year - which makes my job a lot easier.  A LOT!  Additionally, I did not give my "Lunch With Jose" workshop like I have done in the past - I would literally have my lunch in a room while people asked me questions - and ate their lunch too.  An actual break made a big difference.  -However, I did invite the auditions to come up to me if they saw me in the hotel, and to feel free to ask me any questions they may have, and a couple of people took me up on my offer.

Last night's closing night receptions were good, easy-going affairs.  And they kind of closed up shop early - the conference seemed to catch up with everybody around 10:30 last night, and most of the receptions were done by 11:30.  -There have been times where I've been playing piano bar until 3:00AM! -But not last night.  -And the prospect of losing an hour of sleep before a travel day was also keeping people on their better behavior.  I was in bed by midnight, and a got a very good night's sleep.

I'd love to stay and play but things to do and places to go.  It's a gorgeous day here in AZ (like I said, plenty of sunshine to go 'round if your daylight savings time doesn't work in the rest of the U S of A)..

What's a "fitness" forecast?

Weather.com provides a "fitness forecast" which is basically an indication of how comfortable it will be to workout (run, walk, etc.) outside for the day based on the temp, humidity, winds, etc.  I found it comes in handy for my walks in Central Park.

I presume you are not a Church goer.

And weekdays are spent lounging about.

der Brucer

Der B, you are correct that I am not a church-goer. But no on #2. I will soon concede to the requirements of Life As We Know It and adjust my clocks. But not yet. I will not give up that hour until I have to!

Yesterday Matt told me he'd be here at 10. This morning I wondered if that was 10 old time or 10 new time--we'd never specified. He arrived while I was in the shower, but that's the norm here. (He lets himself in. My little kingdom is apart from the area where he's working.)

And before I leave Atlanta proper, I want to personally (and publicly) thank DR edisaurus for her hospitality and generosity these past couple of days.  Meeting her was truly a highlight of this past week, and I hope to catch up with her and Greg again when they head to NYC in a few weeks for "S&V".

*And our visits also provided me with enough time to fill her in on some of those "HHW Mysteries".  -So, if your ears were burning this morning...  -Or in the case of DR MBarnum, if you underwear was, well... we'll leave it at that.  ;D

Although, I guess it could be used as a guide as to how much oil they need to slick up their bodies with for their posing by the poolside.

DR Jeanne, the local AAUW branch, of which I'm a member, is having our annual used book sale next weekend.  I'm signed up to sell from noon to 4 on Saturday.

DR GINNY, if you were local I'd happily donate to you. I wonder if any of the libraries here will be having sales soon. I'll check.

Coffee, tea, or he?   ;)

Seriously, though...I'd also be interested in what topics are discussed.

I know WHY they're doing this daylight savings time - but I also have been through enough of these "experiments" to know that at the end of the day it will be a failure and no energy will have been saved.  And I'm also here to tell you if by some miracle energy was saved energy prices would go UP not down.
