Modifying a post.
« on: January 02, 2004, 11:32:37 AM »

When we are modifying our posts - does the original disappear from the message board and then get replaced by the modified post?  Or does the original post stay on the board until the corrected one is posted?

As far as I can see when you hit "modify" you are given your original post to fix however you so choose.  As soon as you hit "save" it replaces the old post immediately.  If you don't hit "save" the old one remains.

While you are revising a post does it disappear or does the old one remain as one  revises it? Also if you are reading it does it all of a sudden change in front of your eyes? (Same thing if you delete a post)

MS - unless Mr BK responds to this we won't get an answer.  The moderator doesn't answer my questions.  He doesn't like me.  ;D

Hey guys, I'm no techno-wizard so this is far from the gospel truth, but I'm pretty sure that the original post remains visible to all until such time as you hit "Save" to complete your post modification.  The newly modified post will then be visible to readers the next time they refresh the screen.  Same would go for deleted posts, which would only disappear when readers next refresh their screens.
