Fred, do you have any arrival instructions for Sunday Brunch so that we keep doggie stress at a low level? 11 people arriving could drive Toby and Dylan into a frenzy.

Specifically for Miss Karen, should she ask, and DakotaCelt, should she seek confirmation, the way I feel today is:

[shadow=color,glow width,#characters wide] Crapdoodle! [/shadow]

I woke up three times this morning BEFORE my alarm went off...and each time I thought it was Saturday and went back to sleep.  When the alarm screeched, I knew the ugly truth of it all.

Sigh.

Anyway....I managed to dress and get in to the office.  Here I sit, sinus pressure behind my eyes (alllergies), but otherwise ready to plow through the day and get this next weekend started.

Ben - I think Toby will be fine, just a bit noisy at the very first.  I can't imagine all 11 people will show up at once.

I do after-Easter shopping at places like Duane Reade and CVS and Walgreens when all the delectable Easter candy is half off or more  ;D

*Sigh*...no candy for me this Easter, though I might treat myself to one really good peanut butter egg.

These sound like the kinds of things we're asked for in the library all the time!

A funny story from a friend of mine who is a church organist and plays a lot of weddings.

At one pre-wedding consultation, the bride's mother declared that Stravinsky's Rite of Spring was to be played as her daughter walked down the aisle.

After several confused moments, it was determined that what she had meant was that she wanted the "Simple Gifts" tune from Copland's Appalachian Spring.  Slight difference?

I don't know...I kind of like their first option.  You know, the section marked "The Sacrifice of the Virgin"?   ;)

When I was a kid, I had a cocker spaniel named Toby.  What breed is your Toby?

Ya know, I think I'ld like to be at a wedding where Rite of Spring was played while the bride walked down the aisle.

Early in my career as a reference librarian, I was asked for a book titled

A Century of Loneliness.

It took a while to figure out that they really wanted

One Hundred Years of Solitude.

Very strange--the TCM Jane Fonda interview is no where to be found on the schedule in the next fourteen days.  And I just realized that I haven't yet received the April issue of the TCM guide which I subscribed to last month.

Watch it, TCM--you're getting close to being added to my official sh*t list!

Ron P - Toby and Dylan are corgis.

They're really brothers, same mom and dad, just eleven months apart in age.

I go to sleep in, since it is Cesar Chavez day. Next week is Spring break! It shall consist of movies, sleeping, food, various selected people, and perhaps some small amounts of homework.

Well, there is certainly more to a wedding than the swelling of the organ and the coming of the bride.

Aw, shucks!  I was merely repeating something that I believe Elizabeth Barrett Browning had observed.

And I miss you, too! When are you coming to visit so all the New York gang can meet you?
