So... After I had just snatched one of the brownies that the stage manager brought in this morning, Eartha Kitt gave me a "look" and a little "cough".  "I know it's none of my business, but you kids eat entirely too much sugar." -There were other cast and crew enjoying the freshly baked brownies too.  In any case...

I've been noticing that it's time for me to "get healthy" (again), and Ms. Kitt's "gentle reminder" was just what I needed.  So...

DR FJL - If I can't make it to brunch, could you save me a slice of Red Velvet Cake? ;)

Sounds like Ms. Kitt has the same aversion to sugar that the late Gloria Swanson had. Used to parade around the country extolling the evils of sugar.

DR Cason - RE: Your new avatar (again).  From the angle of the pics, the pose your holding and the expression on your face, I first thought it was an "old pic".  You look young.  -Well, you are young(er), but you look 12 years old to my eyes in that pic.

I'm not sure she has an aversion, but I do know that she eats very healthily.  I think she was just stating the obvious - there are a lot of sugar and carb lovers in this company.

And, apparently, there's a really nice farmer's market that sets up right in the yard of the theatre on Thursday.  Good timing.

I woke up about 20 minutes ago...dry mouth, dry throat, dry sinuses.

Sigh.

So, I've been hydrating...slowly...in hopes of getting some more sleep.  But my throat remains dry despite my efforts.

DR Ron Pulliam - Have you ever considered a complete sinus and nasal passage transplant?  ;)

Seriously... Have you recently been tested for a wheat, gluten and/or lactose intolerance?  A colleague of mine was constantly dealing with allergy symptoms year-round until a few months ago.  His doctor finally suggested that he get checked for food intolerances, and, lo and behold, it turned out he had developed a wheat and gluten allergy.  After just a few days of cutting out flour, he noticed that he was generally feeling much, much better.  *And, thankfully, after some "experimentation", he found that he did not have to cut out bread, cookies, etc. completely from his diet.  All a question of moderation.

Hmmm... Now I'm think I should market one of those "t-shirt pairs" - Like "I'm With Stupid" on one, and "I'm Stupid" on the other.  I can make up a bunch of "I Blame Jose" ones, and then wear my "I'm Jose" one.  ;)

Wonder if there'll be time to do a "red carpet."

Well... Since someone needs to conduct today's matinee of A Chorus Line, I'll be here for the duration of rehearsal this afternoon.  So, no brunch for me.  :(

I really wish I could join the festivities, but I'll have to settle for being there in spirit.  However, fried chicken and red velvet cake make great leftovers.

*Now, if any DRs would like to head down to Chelsea Studios after brunch...  I'm sure Ms. Kitt would love to meet all of you.  ;)

As did Lola Falana, as I recall.

I also viewed the animation film HAPPY FEET last night, and I also did not care for it.  It was initially promising--I loved the first five minutes--but I found the rest of the movie derivative of RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSE REINDEER, not to mention thematically confusing and emotionally uninvolving.

And after watching the early Warner Brothers cartoon included in the extras, I can't get "I Love to Singa" out of my head!

I wonder if the bogus time change is also effecting the bank web site that DR Elmore was having trouble with this morning.

L They did not, however, seem to get that emnotionally engaged by the film - unlike Bridge to Terabithia which had them both totally engaged (and the eldest Lad in tears at the end). He didn't want to leave his seat when the movie was over because he didn't want anyone to see that he had been crying.

That is so sweet! :)

I think the posting problem is related to the dreaded Daylight Savings Time. The server on which this site is hosted perhaps did not have a patch to ensure proper realization of DST. It, therefore, changed over today, as did my computer at home. I have Windows XP but I never installed Service Pack 2 so I couldn't download and install the DST patch. I woke up this morning to find the computer had changed the internal clock, setting it ahead an hour.

Just when I was getting used to the clock in my car reading an hour early I will have to remember it is finally showing the correct time.

I do see that the VCR, which hadn't reset the time when the time changed happened, HAS the correct time now.
